Item/Rank/Feature: Pumpkins Data Value: 86 Current Price: 0.60 for 1 pumpkin Suggested Price: 0.70 Brief Description: Pumpkins are collected form a pumpkin farm using some type of axe. Open Discussion: I feel like pumpkins should go up to 0.70 because pumpkins are the starting platform for most users, builders wanting to become resident most likely farms pumpkins, not only do builder farm pumpkins a majority of the Eco City Craft community farms pumpkins. Most of the user that farm pumpkins are looking to get a higher rank or save up for the "melon sword". I feel if pumpkins went up 0.10 it would help users get closer to their goals. I also feel if the staff were to raise pumpkin prices I feel it would not make a big impact in the economy. Raises the price thus will give users $10 more per stack then the price for pumpkins right now. Thank you for your time.
-1 This would further depress nether star prices. Demand for NStars follows demand for MSwords. When Melons dropped in price, demand for melon swords dropped. When demand for melon swords dropped, demand for nether stars dropped. The reduction in demand has caused nether star prices to fall off a cliff. If pumpkins, a competing commodity, were to increase in price, that would cause demand for melon swords to drop further. The result would make nether stars almost useless as a players' market product, as there is no other item in the nether star shop that provides an income stream as great as the melon sword. If an income stream at the same level of the melon sword is available for 8k, the nether stars are worth only the $200 the server pays. In the 5 mins it takes to vote, many folks can have made more than that farming, and would only vote to get rid of the reminders, which makes the player resent voting. That most certainly cannot be good.
tl;dr: I am for a pumpkin price increase. +1 NStars and Melons/Melon Swords should not be the only form of market/income on the server. Because of NSs/Melons - Pumpkins, Wheat, Carrot/Potato, Fishing, Mining, etc. are pretty much no market/no money and chosen last as forms of income. Everyone has a friend with an MSword or just enough money to rent one--or they suck up and make "friends" with MSwords. That, or they just win a lucky lotto and buy one with no real work/trading/selling/etc. (Pumpkin farming is probably the only other method commonly used, but most pumpkin farmers still work towards melon because it is "the best;" this shouldn't be a mentality. Nothing should be much, much better than the others.) I have used my PUMPKIN axe on MELONS and made more from a MELON farm - the same size + time as the PUMPKIN farm - than from a PUMPKIN farm. Note: A PUMPKIN axe on MELONS. If the fastest (non-donator/flyer) pumpkin farming makes far less than the slowest (non-donator/flyer) melon farming... Something is wrong. This kind of goes for all the other "money-making" methods; I can make money faster farming melons the slowest way possible than by doing mining or any other farming. I don't think a $0.10 increase to Pumpkins will do too much harm; it may barely change anything. Economies should have multiple forms of product, not just limited to a couple/few. There's a balance /somewhere/, but no one seems to be trying to find it. There's always some giant shift to one thing or another, and it's usually for the richer users/suck-ups/donators selling features/people with connections to said previous kinds of users. People shutting down suggestions on the economy because they are really into one specific area of market (i.e., the only/best) don't tend to notice that other users do not always have the money, means, and methods that they do.
Couldn't have said it better myself And btw, the pumpkin axe on melons, was this a non-flying/speed user comparison?
Uh.. I'm trying to understand your question. xD; I don't have fly; I was farming pumpkins and melons with a pumpkin axe like any non-donator would. I am not even sure if flying would make a difference when using a pumpkin axe on melons; it would be faster farming pumpkins, though, and may surpass the melons. However, that would be an unfair/biased kind of comparison, as I am trying to look at fair perspectives. xP
-1 Alright think of this, pumpkins and melons make about the same now (though melons do make a bit more). If pumpkins were raised melons and pumpkins would be equal in price, if that happened what would be the point of a melon sword, if I pay 350k for a sword to farm with, I better be making more than the crop where you can pay 10k for an axe and make the same amount of money.
