Item: Raw Fish and Cooked Fish Data value: Raw Fish (349) and Cooked Fish (350) Current Price: Raw Fish ($50) and Cooked Fish ($50) Suggested Price: Raw Fish ($40) and Cooked Fish ($45) Brief Description: Cooked fish can be obtained by cooking raw fish in a furnace. Okay, so let's get this correct. According to the Minecraft Wiki, fish are caught every 15 seconds. Should this be a consistent pattern, I can gain 240 fish in an hour, and at the current price of raw fish being $50, I can get $12,000 by fishing. Surely this is an unrealistic price for a delicacy rarely eaten, and surely $12,000 per hour is too high? With cooked pork-chops coming only with a little bit of time, the want for fish has decreased, is decreasing, and will decrease. I do not eat the fish I collect as a fisherman: I eat the pork-chops I gain from voting. It's much more substantial as a food, and comes at no great expense. The market for fish is lowering, but the price is still the same, creating a flaw in the price of food. Raw fish does not fill as many hunger bars as cooked pork-chops or steak, yet it's worth over ten times more? I believe the price should be decreased to $35-$45 for both types of fish, if we are to view the nourishment value of it, and you must note that the main world is surrounded by oceans and rivers in most parts, and thus fish can be a common food source for many players. It's not just this which has led me to address the issue. According to this suggestion, both the types of fish came at an extremely low price a while ago, but there was a difference between the price of cooked fish and raw fish. Whilst at the time cooked fish was worth $0.50 more than raw fish, now it's exactly the same. Why the prices are now equal, I do not know, because cooked fish takes one coal to create alongside the raw fish, so cooked fish are currently worth roughly $1 more than raw fish, $51 if you do the addition correctly. I would increase the price of cooked fish, if anything, even though I believe fish are too highly priced, and this is the reason why I have put forward the suggested price for both types of fish lower than the current price. I understand that the price for fish was recently reviewed, but I still believe there is still some perfection to be done to reach an acceptable price in fish. As this suggestion stated, earning $6,000 per hour fishing seems an acceptable rate, but $12,000 per hour is a little too high. Also, one must accept that fishing also comes with the added value of the possibility of collecting treasure, and collecting several of the same type of treasure can conclude in an excellent gain of useful tools, useful for newly-started builders. Thus, I encourage you to agree with me that the price of fish need to be changed. EXP can now be gained from fishing, and I've sold two sets of EXP so far earned just by fishing. Surely this should mean that the prices should be lowered? Thank you for your time in reading this, and I look forward to reading your replies and the poll results. Also, if you said "lower than all of the above" or "higher than all of the above" in the poll above, I encourage you to state your reasoning in a reply to this thread. Thank you for reading, and I wish you a good day.
I've heard that all ways of earning money on ecc are based on about a maximum of 15k profit per hour. If you think about it, there isn't much to do to make money. You can farm, fish, mine, or kill mobs as major ways to make an income. I do not think fish prices should be lowered. As a fisherman, with most of my income from fishing, i think the price should go up. It takes more focus to fish than to farm. You have to watch the screen and click corresponding to when the bobber goes down. As for the prices between cooked and raw, you get experience from cooking fish in a furnace so I like the prices the way they are. I strongly suggest keeping fish the price they are for fishermen to continue making a profit. Personally, I am tired of farming and mining. That is why I started fishing in the first place. And I haven't made a ton of money off of it. If anything raise the prices, don't lower them. ~~Poseidon
If anything the prices should go higher, the idea is to earn between 12-18k/h. You will never achieve 100% efficiency so your hourly income is more likely to be around 8-10k/h.
Besides, the 15 seconds is based on wheter you're open to the sky or not. Often you dont catch anything and I can only make @ 6-8k an hour with it.
I have to agree with the other posts i find i average about 6k an hour 1 fish every 15 secounds is way to padded a number
I am afraid I did little market research when I posted this suggestion, and now I have realised the devastating effects such a suggestion like this can have. Moderators, I would be grateful if you could lock this thread.
