IGN: Pancalesplatter Item/Rank/Feature: Melon Slice Data Value:168 Current Price: $0.30 Suggested Price: $0.50 Brief Description:I believe that melon slices should increase in value because currently the best way to get melon slices is with a diamond sword, there is no way of farming melons and making a decent profit for making money with melons, unless of course you own/rent a "melon sword". The reason I like melons is because it is the slowest crop to break,in order to receive a melon slice, the reason its nice to farm melons is because it doesn't hack up on your video card or ram, which makes it very nice to farm/make money, become more relaxed and enjoying, and there is no frustration with so much laggggg!! I have a fairly crappy computer and making money with pumpkins is great but practically ruins my computer, being able to be able to farm ,make mkney, and not lag so Bradley, I'm sure I'm not the only one with a crap computer and would agree with this
Melon swords still are the best way of making money, this is just for all us with crappy computers that can't handle fast paced farming, it takes to much out of our computers, people would still buy melon swords because they are the best way of making money
50 cents per melon slice?!??!? That is absurd. Right now, the only reason people buy melon swords it to get the melon block itself. Sometimes, there would be more than 4 melon slices, which is more than the melon block price, which is $2.
Yeah but it takes a long time even with a diamond sword to break the melon, that time is wasted unlike when using melon swords

Increasing the price of melon slices is a good idea. It doesn't have anything to do with melon swords because those have silk touch. Just set it to a price where it competes with pumpkins, and it will be fair. Example: Melon Sword farming: 17k/hour Pumpkin farming: 15k/hour melons w/normal sword or w/fortune3: 15k/hour Or something like that. You just need to test what the right price for slices should be.
Tests were done for 3 minutes, then multiply $$ by 20 to get the $$ per hour. Farming melon slices with a fortune 3 tool: ~4500 per hour Farming melon slices with a normal sword: ~4300 per hour If you boosted slices to .50, the rates would become a bit over 7000 per hour. That's reasonable, and you could argue that slices should go even higher than 50 cents.
BUMP! (This is one of the best ways of farming/making money when you have a bad computer) but yet you still get little to no profit from it
Cause, it makes a lot of sense.. Who would buy a melon sword when you could make more money using a normal diamond sword collecting melon slices? Also.. your siggy thing is scary =/
But the thing is is that you don't make more money farming melons with out a melon sword, even with these price increases. With a diamond sword it is still slow to mine melons.
Well if we were to balance it out, melon slices would need to be below pumpkin profit. Money needed to get pumpkin farming = 6-8k estimate on pumpkin axe. Money needed to get melon farming = like 200 bucks for a normal sword.
