Brief Description:
Now let me start off by saying, woodcutting SHOULD be more then pumpkin farming, I will argue why below. Logs currently make me 5k per hour and I have 1000 woodcutting, and mcmmo bonus plus. Woodcutting should make 15k-20k per hour, once again, I will argue why below.

I am aware of the nerf for tree farming but it should be more then what it is now. For woodcutting to actually be profitable you would generally need 1000 woodcutting, this takes hours upon hours to achieve. You also need fly, e repairs (major, I bought ++ and it is a major help), you need mcmmobonus plus, and to even have a chance at training woodcutting you need mcmmo+++. In total this is 250 dollars in donation features. You also need a good axe to even break the trees using tree feller. Not to mention the fact that tree farms are incredibly more difficult to make and mantain(replanting, getting rid of leaves), where as pumpkins just re grow without any effort. Although to make pumpkin farming profitable you do indeed need a good axe, and fly. However e repairs is not a must, when you are tree felling trees an Eff 5 unb 3 axe goes down about 1/8 the durability making it quite common to break a tool which is now 50k around, this will get more users to donate for ext commands ++ for the auto repair. Pumpkins however are 1 break at a time, and the tools last a TON longer then when you are tree felling. So I will list what you need to tree farm, and what you need to pumpkin farm.

Tree Farming -
$250 dollars in features, possibly $300
More of a risk of breaking a 50k tool (happens very often)
Manual replanting
Hours upon hours of labor training Mcmmo (only 3 people including myself at 1000 woodcutting)
Can only farm for 25 seconds, then have to wait ~3 minutes

Pumpkin farming -
Really only need $60 in features
Less of a risk of breaking a 50k tool
Automatic replanting (pumpkin regrowth)
No Mcmmo is needed
Constant farming, very easily to be made automatic using macro mod.

 

The thing is, there are leaves that grow on these trees that arn't broken instantly, so you will have slight stops. Also like I said up top unless you have Ext commands ++ you're going to have to stop every few trees to repair. I honestly don't think people would use an eff 10 on tree farming because it can be easily broken. If you are willing to put the time into getting 1000 woodcutting, spending 90 dollars for mcmmobonusplus x3 60 dollars for fly 100/150 dollars for e repairs and a total of 60 dollars for mcmmo+++ (to actually get 1000 woodcutting) yes I do believe you should be allowed to make upwards of 15-20k per hour.

 

3 people have it I do believe, and like I said, I don't think these users are willing to risk the axes cause they do break very quickly.

 

tbh the speed of eff 5 and eff 10 are no different because you are almost always going to get a bit of a pause from the leaves on the trees, I feel 18k per hour for either of the tools would be best.

 

_TANSTAAFL KMaxwell are and lurkblader are the only 3 users I know that have one. Anyway, even if there is up to 10 on the server that is such a small number compared to the users with eff 7s and melon swords .

 

Tbh 22k an hour for 300 + dollars in features and hours and hours of time training seems like a very fair money per hour.

 

No offense, but you say this because YOU couldn't make any money from woodcutting. There are other people who would rather chop trees then holding left click on melon blocks for hours on end. Oh, and melons make about 14k per hour tops for me.
