Just something to remember... The only thing you can do with diamonds is make tools and armor... That is why they are'nt worth what people think... Plus, you can make TRIPLE the amount of money farming (a combo of wheat, mellon, and other cocoa).
Given our specific circumstances, the price of fish being higher than diamonds is completely justified. Honestly, I don't feel the need to explain my statement.
It makes complete sense with our economy, but think about this practically. You can just go fishing if you want fish, and you're almost guaranteed a certain amount, whereas with diamonds, you could go for thousands of blocks before finding a single vein.
That's true Zard, and with that being said it seems that diamonds should be more expensive. As you also stated, think of where our economy is at currently. We just saw a huge influx of diamonds with the new land generation. What Andrew has done is set a price for diamonds to encourage users to eliminate some of them from the server completely. Which, in theory, should drive the value of them up as time passes. I do believe though, that we'll be seeing the price of diamonds at $15 for a long, long time.
I recently posted a suggestion that diamond price to the server be raised, but had no replies. I don't think the $15 server price has helped to be honest, buy in the long run it may start to go up. We've only had the price set for a few days now and we can't expect it to go up yet.
I noticed your suggestion. I don't think that we should worry about it too much. We can at least keep open minds and see where this change gets us before we try to alter it. I have to admit, the drop in diamond price is a good thing and a bad thing, for me at least. A good thing because I can now justify using my diamonds as building blocks, I mean hey, they're only $15 per. A bad thing because I don't enjoy selling my diamonds for so cheap.
I would love to see the price go up, but I'm biased since I mine for money. Other opinions on this topic would be good instead of you and I being the only ones discussing it.
