TOWN THREAD:http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/staffcity-revival-looking-for-volunteers.60081/ As of the present moment, StaffCity is undergoing construction and renovation...at a very, very slow pace (mining out over 100x100 takes a long time with no Eff7 or e-repairs). Staff who want a home in StaffCity live in the original underground area for free (or surface, if they choose), and every few months some plots on the surface become available for purchase to Mayor+. The town is pretty much dead right now - either from the construction/renovation, my laziness at advertising/telling Staff, or the lack of non-Staff users with a plot. I want the town to come alive, and get through construction and renovation, but in order to do that, I may have to give up StaffCity's original design and "lifestyle." So, here is the major decision I need help on: Allow President+ plots in the underground, or keep the underground exclusive to Staff? Posting and poll are both important, but posts hold much greater value. There is no "close" or "end date," and final decision won't be decided by just the thread.
Nah, keep it staff only, it's an exclusive place. And it has a very long history, you can't interrupt that now I think that just more advertising is in order. They will come if you advertise. And you need to alert the staff of this, They'll come
I'd like to keep it exclusive...just not sure how make money off StaffCity to pay for the renovations (volunteer work is something people don't do often lol). As for letting Staff know, it's hard to do without looking bad. I'm not trying to be a suck up at all, but that's how it comes across..so I haven't done anything. :/ As well, in the messy state it's in, it's not really appealing to any Staff. Physical labor. :/ Mining out the underground is extremely slow with no Eff7 and no e-repair. I had spent 21+ hours just finishing one side that needed hallowed out...out of the four. Currently there's still two sides.
Last time I was down there it was a huge underground area, what exactly needs to be dug out still? And what level of pick do you have? I'd be happy to come down there and do so mining for you, as long as I could keep any ores I find, you can have the stone though.
I didn't. I just woke up. :l There are two sides that are kind of...marked out with tunnels on the ends that cut back behind and come back out. Not really sure how to explain which two sides still need cut out. I'd hop in game, but I am headed off to school. Anything you mine out you can do what you want with. Only thing not to be mined out is a netherbrick fishing hut..thing.
You are mining this underground area to 200x200 right? So it should be fairly easy to tell where to dig, because when I go outside it'll stop my perms I already got perms with my above ground plot, is it okay if I hop in-game later and do a bit of mining?
Stop your perms? o.o But overall, you'll kinda...start flooding and drowning on most of the sides, lol. Yep, it's fine if you wanna dig out the stone. :b
Well unless AndrewKM has been doing stuff I'm unaware of, I will be unable to keep mining when I run into spawn and Ike's towns and stuff.
StaffCity isn't right up against any other towns; there's a good chunk of wild between it and Stoneport / whatever else.
If you really need help I can help if I'm online. I'm working on removing multiple houses and I doing some cobble mining would be nice too.
o.o If you wanna help mine out the underground, I can add you to the town and you can work on it whenever. That's the only thing that needs done at the moment, though... After the stone is cleared out and it's expanded, I gotta make a design to be executed.
* Something else... (post). - If you are thinking about adding more people to the town, don't make it presidents. As I have not been there for a while Im not sure of the rules as of now, but It would be nice to let old staff have plots. *cough*
I believe I do have something written on the thread about past Staff members and plots. :b Although I will not be letting them in for free until I actually have enough space. Less than 200x200 area for 150+ Staff members is kinda..not possible.
