I'm looking at all the global chat and have to ask some new player questions in relation to land ownership. If I get myself into a position of owning land, I will likely want to play with others and allow things to happen on this land, but fears of being ripped off by others or fears of others being ripped of by me is something I refuse to accept as okay playability. So my questions are: Am I able to set town ranks? Or how can I limit areas to sections of land such as food? What happens if someone unknown does use town resources in an unfair way? ie taking all the town's diamonds and selling them for personal gain? Can I say who can mine different resources, from wheat and melons to stone, obsidian, diamond? Can I limit who can and cannot place water if they have the Special Feature? If this new land has Monster Spawner in it and I plonk a plot down, will they still work as normal or does this get disabled? And I'm sure I have many other questions that I cant think of at the moment.
I have no idea what that is or why I would think that, I haven't played MineCraft for a long time, nor have I played any other server. I just want to have a plot and know how I can put new players in a secure location while still being kept safe. Otherwise whats the point of investing more funds?
Oh, ok... Sorry, I can't really explain things that well, you'll have to wait til someone who can word it better posts
1. I think you may be confusing plot ownership with town ownership. 2. No, up to you, not officially, no, no.
Protections on this server work like this: 1st option: You reach Mayor rank and protect an area between 100x100 and 200x200 for 75K (90K if you are builder, since you need resident rank). 2nd option: You buy a plot in a mayor or president's town which they can make any size and price they so desire. You want to be sure the mayor is trustworthy enough to buy a plot from and not someone that will kick you out as soon as they can. Mob spawners do not work in protected areas unless the mob spawning flag was set to on for 10k by the mayor. This means that breeding will not work as well. You cannot stop people from mining in a protected region if they are added to the area. there is no way to stop people who paid for water from placing water aside from making a rule about it in your town. Griefing with water will have their water feature they paid for taken away so they won't be doing that. Punishments for using the towns resources in a manner not approved by the mayor are done at the mayors discretion. The only punishments that can really be made are temporary or permanent removal from the town by the mayor without a refund on the price of the plot. Moderators cannot punish for it unless its a major grief, but a rollback request may be made if i'm not mistaken. I hope this answers all of your questions you have listed in the thread.
