Hiya! well as I've been playing about 2 months now I've come to notice the great things this server offers when it comes to reprimanding illegitimate players who cause problems and/or cheat. I've noticed we could do better! (as follows) As the way the AFK command works, we could have a: /complaint <playername> <complaint message> It could make it a lot easier for staff/admins to get reports from players who are causing minor problems, or to be notified so when staff has time to, they can look into the complaint further. and this could also reduce the amount of forum reports over simple matters like a player swearing constantly in a channel like "local" where sometimes a mod is not present. Second suggestion is a Player-to-player Feedback thread on forums. Players would be able to rate 1-5 on a few things like "was this person helpful?" or "was the job completed?" or simple notes to go along with the ratings they give for the player they hired or were hired by. Like YELP or Angie's-List(which we have here in the states) this way players can just go to the forum thread, search a player name, and look at their feedback! I would really appreciate this implemented for times when I look to hire co-mayors or town staff, so i can know who I'm Really hiring. and from an economy stand-point, it would act as a background check/work history. And please, if you do reply to this, have common sense about how you reply and avoid typing things simple like " that's stupid" please go in-depth and give a full opinion =)
Problem is, you'd need evidence, and to get evidence you would have to send a link to a screenshot when it would just be so much easier to have everything in one place on the forums
That's why he stated it should be used for small things. But most of the time this isn't needed because it's very easy to just /pm a moderator and ask them to come check it out. Most other stuff usually needs a complaint. As for the player feedback, I'm all for it, love it, great idea, ect. But the major problem is, flaming. We're gonna have dump truck loads, yea, boatloads of flaming. You can only give feedback on buying donation features, but for feedback on plays in general, I wouldn't like people ganging up on me and rating me really bad.
Hello, Seeing as this is a 2 part suggestion, I'll take it in two parts . Part 1: We don't need a different complaint system. If someone needs a staff member all they need to do is /list and then /pm. Or, as many people seem to do, just ask for a mod. Many times I get the "There is someone swearing in PVP" in global. I TP there and handle it accordingly. If its something on going, you are right, you don't need a complaint. Yet, contacting a staff member using /pm is very effective. In this sense I must say we don't need a new system. Part 2: I have to agree with Jason, it is begging for a flaming issue. We have had many types of feedback threads but this one is just asking for a war to start. Don't get me wrong, we could totally try it. If it is done right and no one steps out of bounds it wouldn't need to be shut down. The donation feedback thread doesn't get shut down because it is simply for posting what has occurred and no one is suppose to post anything else. That being said, there is a perfectly fine and useable normal way to get info on a player. Do a search on their name in the forum and see if complaints, contracts, grief reports pop up. That will tell you the type of person the player is. Look into what these each say etc. Frankly, I feel a feedback thread could be abused as players could give bad ratings to people they don't like without evidence or reason. Revanrose6
Could also do it through forums as like a "+ or - This Player" like Ebay has when you buy something that could be Double checked through selling donation features to other players, but i still stand by having maybe an anonymous version of feedback with a max of 80 characters and a Positive, neutral, or, Negative feedback but again need a way to prevent Mass flaming, so a way to ensure feedback ratings can only be positive or neutral maybe? and leave the negative feedback type of stuff to the complaint threads. that way if implemented it wouldn't publicly embarrass a player over one bad job.
