This is a thread to request help/suggestions for a comprehensive builder guide. I want to make a guide that is only on one thread. A guide that includes all the basics a builder needs to know to get started on ECC. There are currently a dozen separate guides, but, I don't find it realistic to link a builder to that many. Well you need to include how to get to resident that is all. From there it is self explanatory. If they need further help they should be able to get that help as a full member of this server. So how to ask to get perms to a farm Or how to mine
I propose that users of the community should be able to write their own section including the format and then we could collaborate and create a gigantic thread?
Good idea Revan. I think the first thing that builders should see on such a thread is a comprehensive list of the things they are able to do on ECC. Like, buy a plot/build a house. Play survival games. Vote and get nstars. Buy perms to a farm. Chance building their own larger structures in the wild. Play the lottery. Mine for resources and visit the player shops to trade. PvP world. Apply to get nether access. Apply for resident and Aether. After that, explain the importance of money and how to get it. Explain what donation features are and how crucial they are to running such a great server. Explain the various channels and how to trade and auction. Explain dat mcmmo. Then maybe talk about the ECC experience for players who stick around, rank up, donate and hang out. Just some of my thoughts, hope this is helpful!
hmmm... I'll be thinking about this, and possible suggestions I like the idea of an overhead of spawn, then all the important places labeled on the picture. I feel like that'd be very helpful to new players with the new spawn.
My list of questions that are always asked of me by builders, I will list 20 at least: 1. What is resident? 2. Is resident worth it? What do I get with it? 3. Can I have a job? 4. Where do I ask for a job? 5. Will you donate to me? 5. How do I use auction? 6. What is a pumpkin axe? 7. What is a melon sword? 8. How do I vote? 9. Where is the nstar shop? 10. Can I join a town? 11. Where do I ask to join a town or how do I join a town? 12. Why can't I lock my signs here? (usually because they are in the mining world) 13. Why can't I access the nether? 14. What is the aether? Is that skyblock? 15. Where is sg? 16. Do you get paid for sg? 17. Why do those people in sg have enchanted tools? 18. Someone gave stole the item I put on the ground for someone else in a trade, what do I do? 19. Where is the market? 20. How do I sell stuff? Like I said there are other questions, but these 20 seem to be the ones that are constantly asked of my by builders so maybe these questions should be a good backbone to start.

Honestly, we could design some sort of room (as we did in the past), devoted to a tutorial on how Builders/ new players could learn everything. It's creative, yes, but it's also very informative. They should be forced to spawn in said room, instead of spawn, so that they HAVE to read the tutorial. Idk what you guys think, but it's how we used to do things...
I think I've seen the tutorial, but I meant like, a huge long tutorial that new players automatically spawn in, and the tutorial would explain ALL that they need to know, in great detail.
From what I understand in order to do that we would need to give new players their own separate rank. If we didn't then every time a builder did /spawn they would land at the tutorial.
I mean new players. Brand new players. People who have passed through the tutorial would be marked, so they wouldn't pass through it again.
Yes but from what I understand the way that /spawn or where you spawn works is it goes by 'groups'. Unless we make a new group the server won't tell the difference between the two. So they will continue sending builders there.
Anywho, this idea has nothing to do with the in game tutorial. It is all about making a comprehensive tutorial. Currently we have dozens of helpful tutorials for builders. This one's plan is to go above and beyond. To be the one stop shop for builders. Anyone have any ideas? Something I missed?
I guess I'm over-complicating things again... Honestly, your earlier format was very useful. Maybe we could use it, and then add on to it as needed?
