Ok.... I am now going to attempt to save pistons from the dusty closet of misuse. Ever since I wasted all of my money as a Builder on a sticky piston, only to find that pistons are not allowed in ECC, I have wanted to find a way to include pistons in everyday life. Here are some of the ways that i think we can include pistons into ECC: 1. All piston placement shall be logged (if possible...?). 2. One must pay 2k per piston placed. 3. Players must fill out a form to use pistons, similar to a mayor application. It could look something like this: IGN: How many pistons will you be using?: What are the coords of this/these pistons? Do you have the money for this/these piston(s)?: What will these pistons be used for? (Lying will result in a ban): These are checked every 1-7 days...blah blah..... understand?: 4. Auto farming using pistons will be nonexistant, as all use of pistons will be logged. 5. Maybe a limit of pistons can be installed, with the limit being raised with each rank up. Pistons are one of the most entertaining items in minecraft (to me, at least) and I believe they would help add mor greatness to this already incredible server! Btw, anybody who thinks that this would put more of a workload on the mods, they are correct. However, if there is a price on each piston, this will keep everybody from flooding the Piston Applications too much. Also anybody who would complain that they don't want a price on pistons, you don't have to get pistons... I would rather pay for something than have it completely absent from the server. Although the chances of this being approved is.... basically 0, I thought that I would go ahead and attempt to include an awesome part of minecraft into ecc.
pistons not only cause lag, but can be used to dupe items, I understand that this may regulate them, but it is more work for moderators and andrew to look through at all of the piston sites to make sure that they are not duping items, and lag is a major issue with them also.
I understan the lag issue, but I thought that was with huge auto farms. If we put a limit on the amount of pistons allowed, would that cut lag?
