Hello, i'm stuck and I cant decide which GPU I want to put in my comp so I decided to make a random poll on a minecraft server forum to help me decide. Yes, that makes perfect sense.
Depends on your budget. If you want great performance for a good price get the 970. If you want to get unrivaled performance with an insane GPU then get the 980 ti. Though, if you want the 980 ti, wait for pascal since it will be the same price.
970 Will run minecraft with absolutely no problems. It will run anything with mostly no problems really. Just wont look as pretty. If you're only playing minecraft, go with the 970.
If you just plan on playing mine craft you don't need a 970 or 980ti. If you want to play cs:go or games like that and have the money the 980ti is definitely worth it.
CS:GO you can get 70 fps on ultra with GTX 750 ti. I recommend GTX 970 or 980 ti for huge graphically intensive games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Division, Star Wars Battlefront, Black Ops III, Crysis Saga.
I have the 750ti Windforce edition, and it runs Minecraft with over 500fps at all times, although i cap it at 60. CS:GO runs at around 80-100 fps on ultra, smoothly and fine. Drops to around 70 when recording, it's fantastic.
Oh wow haven't been getting notifications for this thread so many comments thanks. Also, I am planning on running games other that minecraft (or I wouldnt be willing to shell out $650 for a graphics card xD). Im just trying to decide whether or not I want to run them on High graphics or Ultra.
The GTX 970 can run most games on all ultra settings at 60 fps at 1080p. If you have a 1440p or 4k monitor then go for 980 ti.
I ended up getting the 970. I decided the better res wasn't worth shelling out $350 especially with the new card coming out this year. Thanks everyone who responded and voted in my poll . A mod can lock this if they see this message, thanks.
