Hello, I'm Kalvb123, this is "A Thing" about the town portals. I know i'm only a resident but i know how many people (Mayors+) may be thinking why portals cost what they do. Well here i would like to start a petition carrying the motion "We Should Not Pay For Town Portals" This i think should be addressed as many people buy towns and then find out they have to save up another 85k or so to get a portal, this is ridiculous as they would like to start the game life. I know you will now say that it is a HARDCORE ECONOMY SERVER and we have to buy things to get things but Really a Portal. Its like buying a house and expecting a door and you get no door. Next i'm expecting Admins and Moderators to close this thread PLEASE DON'T. Nope nope nope. Portals shouldn't be free. I don't want to see 700 town portals and have an even harder time finding the town I want to go to. It only takes like 5 hours to get the 75k for a portal, so it's not even that much of a time investment.
There is enough portals in the town portal area as it is right now, bumping it up would be good but not making it free. Seeing that is 85k just like an application to become Mayor (Or become mayor) costs it is already good how it is. -1
I feel I must point out that in the event Andrew did make it free he would have to refund every single person who has ever purchased a portal or it wouldn't be fair. As for the necessity comment. It isn't a necessity. If the mayor wants he can either TP people in or pay someone else to TP people in. As long as you set your home there it doesn't matter if you have a portal or not you will always be able to get people to your town. Portals are expensive because they are a luxury. They make life easy. Life without them isn't impossible it is just harder.
Portals are not something that should come with owning a town. It is like saying every town and city irl should have a train station at it. What do you do if you have no train station near your town or city, you walk or take the bus to one nearby. So you perhaps could build your town 50 blocks or so away from a town with a portal and maybe use that one. If portals were free andrewkm would have to refund a few million eco dollars. This would take lots of time, lots of work and be a total waste. There are alternatives such as teleport, fly and setting a home at a town. Or you can just walk to a town. 75k is not that much money. Though it may seem like a lot to a builder or resident. Farm for 4 hours and earn that money.
All the town portals... We would need a bigger area to hold them as ECC Has hundreds of towns. Sorry but No.
