OK I've currently been trying to buy Iron / Gold blocks This wasn't working so i Tried ingots Again this wasn't working So I checked Ikes trade town and the Spawn Trade rooms Guess what?! NO IRON OR GOLD INGOTS. No-one appears to have them anymore they have signs FOR them just not stock So I'm suggesting the Ores get a price bump again - Currently EVERYONE is farming instead of mining, and its doing massive damage to the mining community >>. Mining "Should" be the prime money gainer for Minecraft ("Mine-Craft") so I believe we need to buff the price of mining so more users are inclined to do it - instead of EXP Farms or Pumpkin farms which is currently whats happening.
Agreed Mining has been shot down the drain i make way more money using my pumpkin farm then mining anyday ~Once i usually get my own supply of diamonds i wont mine again until needed.
I think the price is so low because of x-rayers and that the ratio can't completely take care of every x-rayer especially the cautious ones. Unlike me xD
Just asking... Have either of you guys farmed much since McMMO was removed? It's not nearly as profitable as it used to be. Just saying. But in any case, I'm no longer sure of the balance of farming to mining - so I have nothing much to say here. But in any case, I will say, that mining is extremely profitable with a fortune III pick. Trust me.
I completely agree that mining should be buffed. It's not fair that, even with mcmmo gone, farming is STILL better money. Some people, such as myself, much prefer to mine and get a small adventure (occasional caves) rather than look at pumpkins all day.
Yes, I have. I would also like to add I have a higher Herbalism than you so I noticed the MCMMO leaving well before you probably would, considering i have a 25% drop chance. As for "Fortune 3" picks did u ever think of its Silk touch equivalent? So that arguments been thrown out the door. Now besides all that MY original post was directed towards Iron/Gold (Which cannot be grabbed with fortune). Sure there's a few Xrayers in the group -but letting them dictate the pace of our economy is stupid. I'd rather have too much stock of something -than not enough stock of it. And really if you see a builder with no donator features and no real name about him selling 200 diamonds every night, how about you send a friendly "Check" to the supermods so they can sus the person out themselves. Everyone (nearly) that I talk to on the server is currently Farming or EXP Grinding for Enchanted Crap they than sell off for 10-30k a piece.
I agree with this although I think that it should be a little easier for those who have been on the server longer to make money than those who have just started. That being said mining still needs a buff.
We need temp mining maps to make mining more accessible. The other reason you are having a hard time finding the resources.... they are rarely purchased by people. So people sell them to the server when they need some extra money. I have sold boatloads of iron and gold to the server because I needed funds and that whopping 60 bucks you make for selling cobble and a couple hundred off coal and redstone just don't make mining worth it. If the price of iron and gold was raised its just more incentive for me to sell it to the server rather then hold on to it waiting for someone to decide they want to trade for it from me. Also on the rare occasions people do offer to buy mining materials they want to pay a tiny amount more then what the server does usually so its not worth the hassle of making a trade with someone who might be scamming or stopping what you are doing to meet up with them and trade.
Silk Touch is a lot harder to get your hands on than Fortune And the reason for people not mining has absolutely nothing to do with the price of the items. Check this thread for the real reason. Trust me, until the prices of mining go up to like, $15 an iron ingot, I'm not going mining again unless this suggestion happens. Same. lol, if someone wants to buy iron for $1 more than server price, then when the price raises, I'm not getting the same percentage more money for waiting on people, who there will be less of due to it costing more for them to buy it from me. In other words, it won't be as worth it to sell it to other people. I'm going to be selling these things to server more often. Less user economy = less iron/gold for you to buy, as well as hurting the economy all together. In my opinion, what needs to happen is the mining world if anything happens to mining at all. Especially because of how fragile the economy is. One price changes, and before you know it, the economy is entirely different, as things constantly adjust until we find a new "balanced". If there is a way around changing prices, I'd rather that happen. But other than that, I agree with your other points. Edit: Also, something I forgot to mention. The mining economy isn't stable with this many users constantly mining out our world. The more they do, the less money mining makes, due to lower chances of finding ores. Because of this unstable-ness, without a way to keep it stable, prices will just keep changing once they start changing to keep a "balance". As the prices go up and up and up, eventually it will be like I mentioned - nobody will ever sell to other users due to lack of users who can afford it and not enough gain in money compared to server to bother trying. This will hurt the economy incredibly. It's also just asking people who have been hoarding gold for months to inflate the economy. As well makes it predicable that they can just buy tons and tons of gold in the server store and sell it in a long time from now to make more money (Will be a long time before that happens, but still, this will deflate the economy quiet a bit until then, then it will INFLATE it incredibly when the time comes.) And don't even get me started about how when the solution comes along for stability it will deflate the economy sooo much. lol. In short, increasing the price is a bad idea unless a "fix" for the stability comes soon. Then again, I'm not the smartest when it comes to economies, and I'm tired, so my math/whatever you call it could be completely off, so I could be completely wrong. However, this seems like it makes sense xP
just make it were iron and gold can not be sold to server so then the price can go to what ever it wants to be
Just a quick say right here, but yes of course I agree mining should be buffed. My input right here is that it would be great because there would be more challenging ways and fun way to go out with your friends or alone to mine. Instead of diamond axe [chop][chop][chop][chop][chop][chop][chop][chop][chop][replant][chop][chop][chop][chop][chop][chop][wait][wait][wait][wait][wait][wait][wait][wait][wait][wait][wait][wait][chop][chop][chop][chop][chop][chop][chop].Ok you know where I'm going lol, but maybe a decrease in selling for wheat and other crops. Instead of $2 maybe $1.5 or $1. Then, mining prices go up by 25 cents to $1. Which would dramatically change the way ecocitycraftians live. It would liven up with people asking to go on a huge mining expedition.Instead of people renting out farms maybe they can rent out certain areas of land just to mine! Well I kind of skimmed through the ideas so sorry if I put yours in my post. Thank you for taking your time to read this message.
i only see one problem to this. mining tears up the land making it hard to live in and mine in. bedrock is completely exposed then we all could run into problems. i think cobblestone and ores should go up, but only a little. and farming needs to drop like say pumpkins to $1.5 and melon slices to $.15. afterall this is MINECRAFT, isn't it?
1, we have a mining world that refreshes every 1-2 months now. 2, The name minecraft was not derived from mining seeing as the game started as a creative building gamed 3, Farming prices are just fine as it is right now.
