I've been "banned" for no reason. I have no memory of ever joining this server, yet I am "banned", I can't be unbanned due to "security" reasons. There is no "security" threat not knowing why someone is "banned" is not at all a "security" threat, it means you are forgetful or you "banned" the wrong person, definitely not a" security" threat. Even if there was a "security" threat you can re-ban me. I need "you" the public to state your opinions on this.
Dude, just get over it. It sucks, but you may have been banned for something serious it was just so long ago that the server can no longer remember it. It sucks, but that's the way it goes. If you think you might be able to get back on give appealing another try, not complaining. Also, stop posting these rage posts as they will hurt your chances of ever getting back on.
I know it sucks, and if I were in the position I would be freaking out because there is nothing anyone can do about it. If I were you, I would just try and remember what you did, or if your account was ever used by someone else, ask them. However, you have to understand that this IS a security risk... If someone, or you, had tried to DDOS the server or did something against ECC rules and we had no recollection of it, you could easily do it again.
The rules and guidelines exist for a reason. I can understand why you're frustrated, but I hope that you can accept the rational behind the Staff team's decision. You were banned, it could have been for something as minor as spamming or something as major as paypal fraud. The fact is, whether YOU remember it or not, there is reason behind your ban. The Staff are not forgetful, the log for bans simply expires after a very long period of time (6 months+ I believe). I assure you that they took every measure to trying to find evidence of the reason behind your ban. You did not appeal your ban for such a long period of time and that is your fault. Your point of "if I do something wrong you can just re-ban me"; this is pretty flawed logic. If you were banned for a very serious offense just letting you back on ECC would be counter-intuitive. If Staff unbanned every player who's ban log expires then we'd have a flood of old rule-breakers returning to the server and most likely repeating their previous offense(s). Not saying that you fall under this criteria, but letting scammers, griefers, and other serious offenders back onto ECC would be a really bad thing. I'm sorry about your ban, but I do hope you can accept it. Best to move on and not rage about it any further, raging eliminates any shot at getting unbanned.
There's also the possibility that your account was hacked and used by some sort of spambot. That would explain why there's no reason for the ban and also you never joining the server before. But maybe you did join ages ago and you did something stupid and just forgot. If you still have your old logs you can probably search them for you joining the server? The logs can be pretty big and laggy though...
Even though "YOU" may not remember being on ECC, the fact that you are banned means that you were (or someone with your IP). Since we, ECC, cannot determine why you were banned, it is far safer to just not allow you back than to take a chance that you were banned for something serious and to allow you to do it again. Some people, crazy I know, like to do really bad things, leave for a while and then return and do it again. Rinse and repeat. Better safe than sorry. And obviously (to me) the server didn't make that much of an impression on you, as you didn't appeal the ban when it happened or even try to log back in to us for such a long time. If you feel there has been an honest mistake, you should calmly try to contact a staff member or even the server owner in a private conversation and see if anything can be done.
