Hello Everyone! This is mostaly aimed for high mods and other people (devs) I am going to be buying the Oculus Rift and receveing it sometime in september. There is a mod for minecraft that allows the rift to be used. i was wondering 2 things 1: Is the mod able to be used for the Oculus Rift able to be played On the server. (after It Is updated) 2. Is It allowed to be run on the server. If not can you consider allowing it, scene it is a client side mod (just like shaders) thx ~BarbaricBuffalo
I am assuming you are referring to the 3D visual headset for gaming. So long as the device does not influence in-game play like grants special mods that can show people on a map radar or stuff like that or x-ray or anything then I do not think it would be an issue. I am not sure on the logistics of how exactly the device works on a PC game like minecraft, nor do I know if it would be even possible to use on it, but maybe one of the devs would know, so I would patiently wait and see if one of them responds to this.
The Oculus Rift is pretty much a monitor that has a mouse built in. And get the newest version of it the screen is a lot better.
No I Believe That It Doesn't Have Mods Able To Do Stuff Like That And It has To Have A Mod To Allow It To Function. The Only Advantage I Can See Is SG Where I Can Have Fast Movement And Look Behind Me Even Though It Doesnt Look Like I Am Looking Behind Me... A Lot Of People Are Going To Report Me For Hacking... Yes The DK2 Is The Way To Go Besides the Minor Steep Price tag It Will Be Amazing ($350) You Should Get One Clou... Then We Can Be VR Buddies. There Only $350 For The New DK2 On the Rifts Website. And From What I Have Heard It Will Give Me A Major Advantage In SG... I Just Have to wait For The mod That Allows It To Update ;-;
With regards to sg, you can just use f5 to look behind you without your head turning, I don't see a problem with it.
Minecrift is the mod. Notch was almost going to make a official way for people to use Oculus Rift on minecraft but when facebook acquired it he cancelled the plans.
You are correct minecrift is the mod used. If that is not updated to minecraft 7.2 or 7.4 then how can we play on ECC with it? The answer is you can't. So I may have to use the software vorp x to do the 3d. It technically doesn't support minecraft but I can find a easy way around it seeing I know how to code and I have the new dev kit... Maby I could make a mod for it so it is updated... Problem tho... I have course work starting here in a week. I'm excited tho. For the rift not the course work but for reals I've looked in to everything. They need more rift support on minecraft all there is now is the minecrift.
