Andrewkm has hinted that there is a 3-step plan currently in action, with the final step being something to do with the 'Future Plans'. This has left so much up to speculation, but some scuttlebutt has been heard of ECC possibly getting SkyBlock. Is this true? Only Andrew really knows, but the speculation of what's to come is definitely keeping the community talking. It’s a SUPER Market By OnSceneReorter, Chief Editor It’s almost been a month now since the Market was redesigned, moved from its ancestral home in Legacy, and opened in Rising. The new market was made with lag and navigation concerns in mind. I took a stroll down the red market path recently, passing the Kmax emporium and Usernameofdeath’s display of red and green checkers. The first thing that stands out to me is the space. These new shop stalls are larger than before. It really let’s the imagination open up with store front designs, and nearly everyone can install floor now. Even though I really love the new market, I get a strange feeling there… Like something is tugging at the heartstring. We all recognized that even on the most souped up Optifine running machine, the old market could destroy FPS like no other, but that didn’t stop us from touring it. The lag didn’t stop us from taking part in one of the most important things to do on ECC - buying and selling - trade. In fact, wandering the market was almost a rite of passage. Making a shop successful, despite all odds, made you feel accomplished, and you had a special respect for your neighboring shopkeepers for their courage. I guess as time moves forward, all things come to pass. Change is certainly a good thing. Let’s call it a sign of the times. I do though think I saw CHISM_101 there the other day… or maybe I’m mistaken… Strange Visitors, visit? By OnSceneReorter, Chief Editor Not long after the portal to the new marketplace was opened, andrewkm took up a defensive position beside a pumpkin. With a locked sign, he declared it special! Beside him, revanrose6 perched upon an iron cube, declaring it her mission. Tons of late night-ers gathered around the curious spectacle. Several people massed with looks of concern. Several were wondering if there was something they needed to do. Suddenly, Andrewkm began tossing his pumpkins to everyone’s alarm. During all the commotion though, a visitor appeared across the road. It approached the crowd. Several bystanders were shocked at the sight. Some ran in fear. The visitor began flying about and began a strange ritual. Iron protector and sith extraordinaire Revanrose6 affirmed that ECC would not give into fear, but the visitor responded with a show of light and thunder. And then… There were more… MANY more! The crowd looked to andrewkm for guidance, but it appeared that the server owner was petrified. On-toto, loyal dog of the dark lady, brought the iron sith a bow and arrow, and she led a counter attack. Arrows, snowballs, and all manner of havoc rained around as what is now known as The Battle of Market’s Breach ensued. However, as soon as they had appeared, they left! The field lay quiet, almost as if nothing ever happened. Some people wonder what sparked off the hostilities, especially when the adversaries neither spoke nor unsheathed a weapon… Perhaps it’s all food for thought… but this reporter is left wondering three thoughts… 1) When will they be back? 2) What will we do? 3) What was welikeike22 and georgie0417 doing under the pavillion... ...That is the Question... By King_of_the_Dot, Columnist To lotto, or not to lotto. A handful of our community members really take the server's mantra to heart. ECC is indeed a 'Hardcore' economy, and these players do everything just to play the lotto. Several 'kings' of lotto have recently fallen at the hand of the cruel mistress named Lotto. Crazy lottos have really made their impact as andrewkm has seen fit to shake things up in many aspects of the economy. However you choose to spend your eco-dollars, the lotto is always there to make a quick buck or simply lose it all. Congratulations! But sometimes there comes an occasion where you have to drop what you’re doing, and enjoy the merriment. It’s time to reminisce over some of the most hallowed events that occur on ECC. Namely, the union of users is celebratory celebration-y-ness. Earlier this month on April 4th, Iron Server Admin Revanrose6 and Alchemist Extraordinaire KHhobbits chose to join together in special matrimony. Officiated by your truly, it was a rather spur of the moment event, but the attendance was nothing to cry about. matthew_gruber, glooble, grimm123, nicit6, starleana, and many more, attended the occasion near Legacy spawn in Bluecoast. Just as the wedding was about to commence, the server suddenly restarted, and andrewkm himself joined in attendance. A thread was made about the event here. Afterwards, I watched TV with grimm123… although it seems the TV was busted… More Congratulations! By OnSceneReorter, Chief Editor But wait, another marriage took place! On April 18th, WeirdBuilder and Annyonion got married on the shores of the Rising spawn town Recours. It was a beautifully planned venue. Officiated by Nicit6, tons of onlookers gathered to cheer and witness the union. A video was even recorded by @Yokeby52 and posted here. Spotlight: Queenport By OnSceneReorter, Chief Editor Since my first week on EcoCityCraft I have loved wandering the world. There’s something about taking in the sights. I can’t quite describe it. I visited a place once, and set a /home there (multihome donation feature). I’ve decided to revisit it after cleaning through my homes list. The port of Queenport is a small upstart at the edge of the new Rising world, built by djnuke, kim3434, and unholygel. As I stand on the pier, the coords are x14,435 z-14,929. Even though minecraft 1.7.4 has been around with the new materials for several months now, I have not come across an area that made a statement with acacia. But here, on this dock, the orange is refreshing. Combined with attention to medieval detail, Queenport shows that you don’t need a large town in order to make the imagination run wild.
