Months ago, an explosion ripped through the seaside town of Picon (See more). Several buildings were damaged, and affected residents were displaced to tents on bridges. Investigation by law enforcement revealed that the explosion was indeed the result of a direct attack. Officials at the time were unable to capture the orchestrators of the attack, but did note they believed the attack came from an ally of Picon. This week Joliver1998 was announced the new newly elected President of the Zodiac Nation. Typically a great deal of fanfare is expected after such momentous occasions, but the new President issued a very serious statement in his opening address: “I am afraid that I must now cast a dark shadow on today's celebrations, for it has come to my attention that a wealth of evidence has arisen regarding the Picon Bombings late last year. Evidence that explicitly points to Caprica's involvement. Though it is shocking to imagine that our former president could be responsible, I am afraid the accusations are true. In response to the undeniable evidence, I have no choice but to formally arrest our former president, and acting Caprican Delegate @outerlocal, for crimes against the nation.” - Joliver1998 On Wednesday, Zodiac forces under the direction of President Joliver1998 began an all out assault on Caprica, where the former Zodiac Leader outerlocal was suspected of hiding (See more). The first onslaught damaged several buildings of the once glorious city. The casualties are not known, but several sources say they are high. Before noon, the Picon warship Adriatic maneuvered into Caprica bay as tanks from Leonis rumbled across Heavens Gate Bridge. The tanks advance was halted as Caprican resistance militia ruptured the bridge, but the tanks soon continued advancing on toward Zodiac Tower. Several Caprican citizens told us that “fierce clashes” raged in the streets as rebel forces armed with little more than molotov cocktails and sports equipment from Pyramid arenas retaliated against the incredibly well armed military. One Caprican was heard saying, “I didn’t even know our government had such military power… Where did they get all of that?” The individual fled with several friends into the jungle hills bordering the city. On Thursday, the former Zodiac nation President issued a traumatic cry for aid: “People of the world, In the past week, I have gone from being the president of the 12 colonies - a trusted, respected figure, who has led the zodiac nation to greatness over the past three years - to become a fugitive, hunted by my own people, and cast out by my former allies. In my darkest hour, I send out one final plea for help. To anybody who values justice. Anybody who values the truth. I call on you now. The accusations made against me are false, constructed by those who would conspire against me. My people know that I am pure of heart, and for those who have not yet abandoned me, I send my eternal gratitude, but we alone cannot succeed. We are outnumbered, outgunned, and more innocent lives are lost by each passing hour. To those who stay silent, watching from the sidelines; I direct this message at you. Do not stand by ideally and watch as these criminals destroy all that we have worked so hard to preserve. Stand up for what is right. Aid my people.” - outerlocal Moments later, strike craft, bearing the marks of the Virgon combat air guard, screamed over the burning city, as Virgon Quorum Delegate dgam02 sent this broadcast: “As these hard times begin to strain the political stability of our Colonies, I must protect the current order and keep stability throughout the nation. As Delegate of Virgon, I am authorizing the Virgon airforce to join the Caprican's fight for innocence. All of Virgon is hereby alligned with the Capricans and the old authority and all Virgon resources are at the disposal of Caprica.” - dgam02 Several major explosions rocked the city as bombs and missiles were delivered from the skies. Residential and commercial structures were severely damaged. Several people massed around a helicopter, preparing to evacuate. One of them told us, “Sometimes, you have to roll a hard six.” We did take note that one of the evacuees looked quite similar in appearance to Presidnet Xpurexcorex of America. Today, at 1:09 PM, outerlocal surrendered to Zodiac forces as they stormed Zodiac Tower. “I wish for no more blood shed, no more destruction.” -outerlocal. He did however note that his surrender is not an admission of guilt in the Picon Bombing incident, and called Joliver1998 a tyrant. President Joliver1998 soon responded that outerlocal had been taken into custody, but that Caprica would remain under martial law. As news of the cessation of major hostilities filtered through the new channels, Delegate dgam02 delivered a chilling warning: “Joliver, my old time friend. For years the Zodiac Nation has lived in peace and prosperity. You have always been one of the standout delegates in times of hardship. I have always believed in your ability to rule effectively and keep stability in our beautiful nation. Now, my faith has been completely eradicated in you. You're actions of war and rebellion against one of our states has caused political and economic disrupt throughout the Nation. Delegate Joliver I'm going to offer you two choices. Choice 1. You will remove all of your military forces from Caprica, and we will properly investigate the case of our former leader Outerlocal in a high court run by the delegates of the Zodiac. In this court evidence of a terrorist attack from Outerlocal must be provided for a final verdict of this problem. Choice 2. If you do not remove your forces from Caprica, Virgon will be declaring war on both Tauron and Picon. If won, you will be brought to high court to see the outcome of you're decisions. Choose wisely my old friend.” - dgam02 It seems that a nation, built upon mutual respect and trust, is being ripped apart at the seams. Tonight, the city is dark, quiet, and filled with fear. There are no signs of the Caprican militiamen that previously countered Zodiac special forces through the week. Spotlight: Appledore By OnSceneReporter, Chief Editor EcoCityCraft’s Main Worlds are full of cool and fascinating builds. You could spend days upon days exploring and gazing at them all. A friend, Railefbear, was recently looking for a home, and bought a lovely rooftop villa in Berlin (See more). Recently, I landed in another wonderful town that I think presents several interesting aspects. Appledore is a newer town, established by ChrisDKN. It already has a portal located at Towns 5 - Quartz - Diamond row - Portal #5 (Portal Directory), and a town warp (/warp appledore). What is immediately striking about this town is that it is almost completely constructed from stonebrick, cobble, and netherbrick. “I originally tried to create modern looking buildings. But I found it much easier to base [the structures] on buildings I see everyday in real life which are Victorian style buildings.” Said ChrisDKN in a recent interview. ChrisDKN says that he uses the resource pack Sphax. But even without a resource pack, the results are stunning. Appledore is a great example of architecual prowess. No two structures in the town appear to be duplicates, and all are quite detailed given the limited materials used. Originally the town was planned to be named “Arcadia”, but the name was already taken. ChrisDKN notes that the name “Appledore” came from the British TV series Sherlock, which is slated for a fourth season. The town itself has a horse stable, a repair center, and several amenities. But even for being so full featured, the town has quite a bit of space left for future residents. ChrisDKN: “I want to make the town somewhere that people enjoy living in and enjoy looking at.
