With the release of the NEW EXP system made by andrewkm to counteract the implementation of cheap XP by Mojang, many users are confused on prices, where to enchant, and if they should buy now, or sell now. I am here to give some helping hands to help and guide you. Let's start with the basics. Q:"Where are enchanting tables, and why can I not use them?" A: Enchanting tables are disabled and are now useless. To enchant items you must have XP in your inventory and head over to the EXP shop found on the top layer of spawn around the inner ring, or type /warp expshop. Q:"Ok I got there, but I don't have XP, and the market is sold out" A: Either get a spawner or just wait a week or so. As of right now people are selling high prices and buying high prices and over the next few days the market will even out, XP will start flowing in from those who sell it in the market, and XP will be a lot more common. Q: "So should I sell my XP and enchanted tools or no?" A: If you're selling go ahead and try, but buyers will be scarce. As of right now you could get away with selling a pumpkin axe (Efficiency 5, Unbreaking 3 Diamond Axe) for about 40-50k. So it's worth your while to sell IF YOU CAN, but it's unlikely anyone will buy it. Q:"Do I buy XP/Enchanted tools?" A: NO. DO NOT BUY! The tools and XP prices right now are very high and everyone made a bum-rush last night to either stock up on XP or they got to the market today and bought at around 4k per set while there was still some left. As mentioned in the second question, a steady flow of XP will be soon to come and prices will reach an equilibrium. Q:"How are people pricing Pumpkin Axes and Maxed Silk Touch Pickaxes at so much money!?" A: It's simple math really, let me show you. Efficiency 5, Unbreaking 3, Silk Touch 1. XP: 7,000+3,000+9,000. XP going is going at $3,800 for 30 levels in the market. So 19,000 XP divided by 825 (30 levels) is 23.03. 23.03 sets of XP multiplied by $3,800 is $87,514. YES, Eff 5, Unbreaking 3, Silk 1 for 87k. This is why I urge you NOT TO BUY and wait a couple extra days or weeks. I thank you for reading and hope this cleared up any small amount of confusion. Another pro-tip: If you can your hands on ebooks, it will save you a ton. Ebook/combining via anvil cost the same as ever. But ebooks are about to become scarce. So grab them while you can.
Why do you think exp will be common? People are already setting up spawners as they are found. People plan to manipulate the market as well by destroying spawners. I think we are seeing the new norm. In fact exp farmers are talking about price going up even more to match the time spent farming exp vs farming pumps, or melons.
I feel XP will go up because I've already seen a TON more of spawner trading and I feel that there are already spawner hunters. Like I said though this is all just opinions and the prices listed are just for today. A lot of this thread is predictions.
