Hey folks, new to online MC and to these forums and world! I have a couple of questions that I hope can be answered! 1) What is NetherStar and how do I get them, as I have some $$$ and can't buy anything without NS'. 2) In the chat, I'm marked as (L) and no one has ever responded to anything Ive asked on there. How come? 3) Some area's I can't access, such as Neather. Why is this? Thanks in advanced for any replies
Welcome to ECC! 1) Netherstars can be considered as our second currency. They can be used to buy things from the netherstar shop, such as our Eff.7 Pickaxes. To obtain them, you can either buy them from other players, or use our 5 voting websites. 2) Channel [L] is the local channel. This means that anyone within a 400 block radius will hear your messages. If you wish to speak globally in the [G] channel, you can type the "/ch g" command, and use "/ch l" to swap back. 3) Restricted areas are generally our additional worlds. In particular, the nether requires a rank to enter. This rank being the 'Survivor' rank. We have this to keep the nether a private area, while taking some money out of the economy. 1. A netherstar is normally an item you would get from a Wither, but they aren't enabled. You can get them by voting and buying from others. 2. L chat is local chat and players only 500 blocks away can hear you. Switch to global chat with /ch g for the world to hear you speak! 3. Nether and aether is only accessible to those who pay 20k for the rank.
Thanks for the replies guys! Actually, another question has popped up ion my head! Since some area's are restricted, how do I go about expanding myself further out into the world? Is it basically go out into the wild, earn my money that way, then buy the ranks, kind of as an anti-spam filter? Also, I'm looking for somewhere to build myself a proper home. I hear that there are towns around. How do I get to these towns?
That's right StarGazerThomas. You can go into the mining world where there are very few restrictions on what you dig up/place, but will be reset every few weeks, or you can go into the main worlds (Rising/Legacy) where you can similarly dig and place at will in the wild, but may run into a town that will keep you from digging/placing in the town. Selling what you gather will give you ECD (EcoDollars) to use to buy ranks and items from other players.
Towns generally have portals, or can have people TP you to them. Basically, it allows for a more secure home and allows you to show building creativity. Plots can cost anywhere from $500-$5k depending on size, so you may want to choose one that fits your needs. You can find towns through the huge Towns portal at spawn (5 floors of portals) or you can ask in trade for a plot Enjoy your time on the server!
Ok! Think I got it now! Thanks folks! 1 last question would be, how long until your stuff would be deleted due to inactivity? Edit: God damn another 1! Exp, how do I earn EXP to level up?
Your stuff (inventory, echest) is deleted in 2 weeks inactivity I believe. Exp can be bought or gotten off killed mobs or gotten from ores in the mining world @StarGazerThomas
The wiki covers the rules, and has a ton of tips as well. Inactivity is covered on this page. Exp for enchanting can be earned by killing mobs and fishing. Mining and smelting do not provide experience at this time. You cannot use enchanting tables, rather the experience will be spent at the server experience shop. You can also sell or buy experience of this type from other players. There is also MCMMO, where you earn experience specific to certain actions that give you bonuses when attempting that action again in the future. A very basic breakdown is at this page.
