Basically, I'd love to see a map building competition for the SG server for when it comes out. If this was to happen, I'm hoping the competition would be started up sooner rather than later so that those of us that wish to try our hand at map building get plenty of time to perfect our maps (even if the SG server isn't planning on coming out for many months ). Also maybe let people enter more than once, as I know I'd like to make a couple of maps. As for prize ideas, maybe 750k main ECD or a startool or a coupon for each map picked or something similar to that.
100% going to happen. My plan, though a bit far out is this; We'll have 2 active SG Maps, one will be created by the community, and the other a professionally built one that people are familiar with. Then we'll also have a 3rd/4th that we can swap out every 3 months. The new maps will be voted on the forums. Basically, we'll have a perpetually running SG Map build contest, with the winners being the ones who get the next slot for the community made. The professional one will be selected from a vote of a few either suggested, or found on various lists. Thoughts?
Is this happening then? Because I'd much love to get a shot at building an SG map, but where will the building be done though?
Typically for any larger building comp you're expected to provide your own build space (usually a separate server that you host) and submit either a world download or a schematic.
This is a great idea! I'd totally be interested. Is there going to be a thread/announcement made soon?
The above was said on a suggestion to add new things to the current SG and what Jamie said in the quote above was a couple of days before I made this thread and I believe it still stands, or I haven't heard otherwise at least.
The current implementation is, yes. Sg will return as a separate server in the far future. Features will transfer to Kitpvp and not to the new sg server.
SG will be making it's way back into the City server. Slightly revamped, with a new map. KitPvP is currently on hold as it was @JamieSinn's project and he's retired. @STAFF-04 Server Admin 's please organize a map building competition for the return of SG. PM me regarding prizes you would like to see and I will approve them for you
After discussions related to Survival Games and the near impossible scenario in regards to updating it, literally even if @JamieSinn was to do it, I've decided to scratch this idea and mark it as denied. SG won't be coming back to ECC, however, we will DEFINITELY include some sort of PVP system in our future (for City server) @STAFF-04 Server Admin take note not to launch the comp.
