Hi all, I have built a new form of PvP game that I would like to open up to the community as the first PvP map of Advocaite's PvP town, Pergatory. I haven't seen this game on any other servers although it may exist. I would like your feedback on the rules and ideas behind the game as well as if you would be interested in using it. The structures are all built; we just have a few things to finish up such as removing some lwc and declaring the land PvP. (Don't worry cash isn't the problem, just have to get the request in.) It may even be up as early as 2 days from now if I get good feedback here. I am posting the rules here for the community to provide feedback on. If you have any suggestions or comments feel free to leave them here. They will be closely considered. Thank You! High Stakes at High Noon PvP arena aims to do 2 things. -Provide a way for high rollers to bet large amounts of money against each other in the ring of combat. -Provide a new PvP game type to the community. Rules: High Stakes at High Noon is a PvP game played between two teams of 3-7 players each. Victory can be attained in three ways. 1) The other team is completely killed off. 2) The time limit of 30 minutes expires and the team with the most players alive wins. 3) The other team is disqualified (Explained later). The main concept of the game is that there is one “captain” or “tank” per team who has “soldiers”. Only the captain is permitted to wear armor at the start of the match. However, if the captain is killed, anyone may pick up and use the armor he was wearing. The game is played on about a 50x50 map with a wild west theme. Anyone can use any item available to them with the exception of armor. If a player is killed their body can be looted. Victors can take all spoils; there is not returning of items picked up from corpses when the match ends. You keep what you kill. The game will begin with a series of 4 rooms to set up betting. Entrance: Pay $15,000 to begin the match. The minimum bet is $15,000, hence the high stakes. 10% ($1500 from each team) of this amount is taken to pay the referee(s) and expenses of the venue. The rest will be distributed to the winning team. Specifically the captain. Room 1: Starting location and the first team to explore the map will be decided. The two locations are Graveyard and Outhouse. These will be decided by a coin flip by a referee. Room 2: Place your bets. This room is a room to place additional money on the match. There is not limit on how much each team can place. The lowest amount bet by each team will be the amount placed on the match. So if one team bets 20,000 and another 30,000, then 20,000 will be the bet for each team. The captain of the team will be the one to place the sign. A sign will be provided. Do not place the money, only a number. Teams will not be able to see what the other team is betting; however, teams will be able to chat while betting. Room 3: The two bets will be observed and the minimum amount will be placed in this room for deposit. The house will take only 2% of the additional bets. Room 4: The total amount paid out for victory will be announced (bets minus the venue's cut) to the audience and players. Room 4 will also be the launch point. A countdown will mark the start of the match, followed by the simultaneous opening of the map's iron doors by the referee. If you are caught doing any of the below actions. Victory will be declared for the opposite team and the offender will be considered for banning. Please use the honor system. There is no software code to enforce these rules, but referee(s) will be keeping a close eye. Referee(s) have the right to involve mods if they have suspicions. Captains can have the option to call out cheating during or at the end of the match. If the judge says “stop” all players must do so until the challenge is resolved. Criteria for disqualification: - Flying or speed running. No flying or speed running is allowed. (Speed potions however are legal.) - Breaking server rules (like language) - Killing or attacking a player before or after the match begins or ends - A soldier wearing armor that was not looted from a captain -Using any donation features such as multi-home -Using the home command -Using to any lwc commands to change any doors or other items on the map -Greifing. This should not be possible but still is not allowed. A top 10 leader board is available. The rank on the leader board is determined by the total amount of cash won by that captain. Some fine print: In the event of a server disconnect or other catastrophic failure, the match will be restarted at another time. Refunds will not be given if individual players disconnect. They are permitted to reconnect. However, if they are the only ones left, then the match will be over. The other team will not be required for them to wait. If a player has a legitimate complaint, they can ask the referee(s). Full refunds are not out of the question for certain events that may not be outlined on this rule sheet. Disagreements between the venue and players or between players will ultimately be settled by mods and higher as their authority trumps that of the venue. I am open to modifications of the game on the map. If you have a good idea of a PvP battle and have an opponent to fight, message me, and I will see if I can change the format to accommodate the two teams. The map is kept under lockdown. However, the players are permitted to look at the map from behind the glass encasement.
Yeah, absolutely. Right now I'm just trying to organize everything and get players. If you put a team together, then we should only need one more team to hold a match. Pm me sometime in game if you want to check out the map. Also was wondering what everybody thought of allowing potions; should they be included or not? Lastly, is the entrance amount appropriate? I want enough to go to the referees as payment but don't want to encourage players not to play due to a high price. I know the first post is really long, so I'll be posting an abridged version soon so people don't feel like they have to read a book.
I however can see a problem... Someone with good armor as captain could easily slaughter everyone else. If I were captain I would just wear my full Prot4 Fireprot4 armor and insta kill everyone with my bow
The other captain would probably be smart enough to wear appropriate armor and have decent tools to help their team. Also WalkerOfTheEarth +1 for having an organized and informative post!
Yes but what I'm saying is the captains will fight and one will win. The one that wins will just kill everyone with ease
Hi Ryan, I think that battle could go a few different ways. If the two captains fight and the other players are firing arrows, then they could change which captain wins. Or if one captain dies, but lost all his soldiers, then the other soldiers can just run from the captain until time expires and win that way. Or maybe they could hit the captain from different angles. I don't know how the game will turn out for sure, but I don't think it will just be a matter of the captains fighting then killing the other members and winning every time.
Good point. Also, maybe the soldiers can just wear regular iron armor so they have a chance of surviving from a sharp5fire2 sword.
