PVP isn't a good idea starting out. Focus on money. Vote on the server, sell your nether stars in the market, and get a decent plot. After that, try to mine or farm. I hope you will enjoy your time here on ECC and have fun.

Once you are economically stable, you can go for pvp.But I have seen many players rage quit because they went for PVP first, lost everything and quit. If you are more stable economically, if you happen to die it feels like less of a hit then putting everything you've got into pvp and losing.
