Minecraft Name: Icehart99 Suggestion: A new staff rank called helper. Reason: This rank would be very helpful to ECC, there are only so many mods and admins. These "Helpers" are kinda like interns to the mods. They learn more about being a mod and could be future mods themselves. Also they can help mods with controling little things like being respectful and language. If it where to get out of their power they could call in a mod. Any Other Information:Helpers would not have any power other than their rank, maybe a few basic staff commands. Not ban or anything. There would probably be very few of them maybe 10 at max. I thought of this while sitting in spawn (only thing I do) and I was helping a lot of people. THats what I do now on ECC after losing everything from my rank to $ is help others have more fun than they might if they had no clue where or what to do. This kinda seem redundant, you don't need a rank to help players and moderating should be left to moderators in case it escalates, in which case they could take action.
I see what you two are getting at and trust me im no new guy to being a mod or adimin or even owner but in my years ive noticed that sometimes mods get into a something that needs their attention and they cant help new members with small things.....and theses helpers can do alot without any real power. Myminecrafter01 I can see how the moderating should be left to mods but theses "helpers" have no power other than the indication that they are a low staff member. Yes there are bugs but that can be fixed as anything else. Thinks for the input any way.
This will/should not be added for a few reasons: 1. We have moderators for a reason, they are there to help out users. 2. We have enough moderators to help out anyone in need. 3. If you really need help just ask another player. The only reason I would think this as a good addition is: 1. It trains future people who may be getting staff.
Some people might do it to look helpful so they can get cozy to get the mod position. I really dislike those people who help people so they can try to run for the mod position. They should be doing it because its something they like to do, not putting on a show.
We really appreciate you helping us at spawn, that's great! If you believe you're fit for the Moderator position, keep helping! There's a -huge- difference between helping, and Mini-modding.. Once you learn the difference, you'll be a great Moderator. However, keep in mind that just helping at spawn will not guarantee the Moderator position, it just increases your chances. You're welcome to continue helping people without becoming the Moderator rank; I'm doubtful that there would/will be a rank made for helping... Well, there already is; Moderating! I'm welcome to teach users how to become a Moderator, but I can only give limited help.
Maturity. We don't really need a while rank labeled "helper" or anything. Staff is expected to help others, and there is always a few online. I love my non-staff helpers! ^^ You help make ECC unique and inviting. +1 to you all! Trust me, you don't need a special rank to say that you are a "helper". Users are always recognized for their actions while in-game within the staff team.
