Following how there is forum discussions involving like only Presidents can do things in that section, or Mayors. Just depending on the rank. I think there should be like new in game chat channels such as, /ch builder /ch resident /ch mayor /ch president. If you were a president you wouldn't get to see the mayor's chat unless you actually joined the channel. I think this would be pretty cool! If you have any more ideas, help, ect. Leave a comment
I like this idea, considering the global chat is usually overwhelmed. I mean we have separate forums for ranks, why not separate chats? Just my two cents. Edit: I didn't see that you already said something about lower ranks going into higher rank chats. Oops
I don't think this will happen, I would love only ability to /ch mayor or /ch president (only 1 of them)
Won't happen. If you want less chat flood, buy a Town Chat Channel, join it, and type /ch leave global.
I believe we only need a /ch g2 - second global channel. When you join the game, your channel "settings" stay the same, like it already is. First time joining the server, you join Global 1 and not Global 2. You would be able to leave both globals and join both globals, just like most of the channels we have already. Two global channels will allow more groups of people to globally converse (as you cannot /tell multiple people at once, are not always in local chat, nor havea town channel), and allow users to avoid the recent huge influx of new players spamming up chat with questions. New users would soon learn about the second global channel if they wanted to go in there - Either to seek help (asking different users for help), or hopefully a better chance at a real conversation. Rank-specific channels would be neat, but it may cause people to think there are cliques/popularity groups. There would also just be too many channels; we've got a lot already. We have the forum for rank-specific chatting and discussion.
