Minecraft Username: Jdawger Brief Description: Just like many other reports with the new anticheat xray system, textures stay visible on occasion while mining. Instructions: 1.) Mine somewhere where anticheat xray exists. 2.) Occasionally, one of the faux textures used to confused potential xrayers stays on the surface of the wrong block, confusing people who mine How many times did you recreate this?: A few times on video, few more off video. Result: On occasion, the wrong texture is displayed Expected Result: The right texture is shown and anticheat doesnt confuse us Evidence: Towards the end of the second linked video, while it is kind of hard to see, there was a magma block shown for a solid couple of seconds while I finished mining the quartz, then disappeared when I went towards the area. Also, before videotaping, I found an ancient debris behind some quartz, mined it (it took the same amount of time to mine as actual ancient debris, but it ended up being netherrack
I am putting together some videos as I've been having these same issues (even when digging dirt). You don't seem to be having the problem I am with ghost blocks, I assume it's connected as I remember having this same issue and others back when we released another anti-cheat (the one that used to push you into lava and could be seen flying behind you).
To add some more evidence, I managed to grab two screenshots just now: a before and after of the event. It showed an ancient debris and magma block for a good five seconds at least.
I don't even mine but I'll help the miners out. I think this is a problem because of the anti-cheat being too aggressive. The way I'd fix this is letting the cheaters see another layer with x-ray and not just one. The server can't acknowledge the blocks being broken fast enough and that's why the anti-cheat displays fake ores/blocks. Letting the cheater see another layer would improve this issue by more than 95%.
Now I see why you two even bothered to post about this. I thought mining in the nether is bad but once I've tried the eff7 I honestly think mining is ruined. Here is a better quality video. Also @andrewkm try using the EFF7 pickaxe if you aren't using it.
I have been having the same issue since the last magic day. To the point where all i could see was ores of all different kinds on the surface farming dirt and at y:11 chasing emeralds. I have just tried to recreate this and it still happens sporadically, I believe when lag is bad, whether its server or connection lag is high it gets worse. I will try and get a video when im laggy, if this issue doesnt get sussed beforehand :3
I don't even mine anymore because of the constant issues and lag. I was trying to get soul sand in the nether and every few seconds the fake ores would appear , my ping would skyrocket and I'd either disconnect or lag out for a few seconds.
I do not see what's wrong in this video. Will need a time stamp. I see nothing wrong with this video. Other than a few ores flashing (minor annoyance), nothing is preventing you from breaking the iron that you came across. With that said, I'll need a video, during actual lag, showing how this is effecting gameplay negatively. The above videos are nothing but a minor annoyance seeing an ore flash here and there.
I've just attempted to reproduce this with the EFF7 pickaxe in the main server and see no major affects on mining. Will perhaps try on Magic day or during peak hours to see if things change.
So just now, I was mining quartz again in the nether, and the anticheat stayed on for a solid minute (the few seconds of the video, plus the minute to look for my screen recording software). Chat was still going by and it showed glowstone and magma under the quartz, only to change when I mined a different block.
Are most of these issues in the nether specifically? The video posted by @Jdawger above (the first quote in this reply) is the only one I see being quite the issue, however it's mainly in the nether. If so I can make some nether adjustments, the main world will still need a proper demonstration via video.
