In Game Name: kimi2QTWhat part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for: Network WideShort title for your suggestion: Help ChatWhat are you suggesting: Separate chat for new players to communicate with each other and staff. Maybe restricted to Builders and staff but open to alternatives. Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?: I think with the growing number of new players it's becoming difficult to communicate clearly and address issues, concerns, and to introduce players to our servers. Currently much of the communication is done through /ch g or Global chat which causes much confusion between normal in game chat and people requesting assistance, raising concerns, or learning to play. I'm aware that the in game tutorial covers many basics, however there's only so much information that tutorial can cover and I think this chat would work in tandem with it.Other information: I do not know how much of an impact player growth has on staff. This suggestion is purely based off my experience in game. This suggestion may be a duplicate as I'm still learning my way around the forums, apologies in advance if that it the case.Plugin or custom addition: One suggestion per form: I Understand.
I feel like global is just good enough to use for a help chat. That way it’s open to everyone who would answer questions and not just staff. -1
my thinking is that new players don't know about or how to change channels, this would be their default chat channel when joining the server.
In this case, they would ask in global, 'How do I message a player' or something similar. Not really needed since Global is probably the easiest way to get help from all players not just staff who may not know the exact answer to the question the user is asking. -1
-1 We already have problems with new players not knowing how to join and leave channels, and/or just ignoring staff and players alike in general when they are told how to leave channels. ex... trade
At this time I don't see much ruckus to warrant a brand new help channel specifically for staff requests. We have /tuturial, we have staff members reaching out in /pm's, we have the help section on the forums and we have discord.
