I am suggesting that the ability to lock in the nether be re-established. Now I don't think it would be a good idea to have it based on the current amount of locks a player can have, but to wittle it down to maybe two total locks allowed in the nether. This isn't a ridiculous amount of locks by any means, it would just allow a little bit of security against those who go out of their way to ruin the whole point of the nether. I know that this suggestion will hardly be considered but, hey, why not try and get some opinions here.
I think this is a good idea, as long as people aren't given too many lock abilities. That way, they could only protect the few things they need the most.
No. Nether is supposed to be the Ultimate PVP arena. Allowing users to lock items only allows them to feel some form of safety, which should not be. The ability to lock spawners, chests, and the assorted lwcs removes a key part of the Nether PVP feeling. Its supposed to be just like the mining world. The whole point of the nether on THIS server is that it remains a full pvp/explosion area, with 'blaze/exp' farming a secondary matter which was added after we brought the nether to the server.
This. And the reason for LWC being activated for a short time was because when it was regenerated Andrew accidentally set it to on.
I don't necessarily believe that giving the ability to LWC in the nether is the solution, but I don't agree with that idea of the nether being the ultimate "pvp" arena. The nether offers certain valuables that you can't get anywhere else. It's like devoting an entire world to the whole four of five players who enjoy ramping around ruining people's fun, and allowing severe monopolies on different items (especially exp). Ask the server in general. Most people find spending 20,000 on the nether a waste.
Since writing this post I am also in a disagreement with what I have posted, my newest idea has been posted as http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=18308
