I understand the strict rules against using multiple accounts on the server to benefit me and don't intend to do so. I didn't have an account and was merely using my sons account to play minecraft and found this server. I enjoy the server so much that I decided to get my own account and would like to transfer the wealth from my sons account to this account. To me this is might be a gray area that isn't addressed in the rules. But, I don't think that I'm trying to bend the rules at all. I don't believe that this would any way be construed to be using 2 accounts to benefit me. In fact once all of the wealth transfer is completed, I will not use my son's account again for ANYTHING. I did all the work on the other account and just want to use my own account instead that I just created. As it is I will lose about 300 levels of mmo experience by switching to my new account, so I will have to build all of that back up. I also bought a permanent enchant repair from someone and will lose access to that and have to repurchase it. Finally, I bought access to both nether and aether on his account and will have to repurchase that with my new account. So, by switching to my own account instead of continuing to use my son's account will be anything but a benefit. I just don't want to lose everything and start completely over. I also don't want to appear to be breaking any rules.
You seem to have a good grasp of the rules so you should be fine. No ranks/mcmmo will transfer and you admitted to understanding that, and you understand that double accounts to benefit one is not allowed as well. We have several users who have either family members or children who play and we do monitor it very closely for abuse. We have brothers and sisters who play, 2 brothers who play, and several adults who play with their kids and as long as they all follow the rules everyone gets along just fine. If your son does plan on playing at the same time I would suggest pming a mod your Ip address and the names of both accounts so that you will not get a temp ban for multiple accounts while we investigate. We keep a list to monitor the game for things like auction fraud etc. In my opinion you should be just fine as you seem to clearly understand the rules. RagMan
Good thing I asked, because I actually have 4 sons that play minecraft. And I was hoping that they might play with me on this server at some point and we could play together. And I wouldn't want to get banned because someone thought that I was using multiple accounts.
You could, if we didn't know you were brothers and something looked fishy in game (like him bidding up your auctions or something). We take multiple accounts very seriously and sometimes we will temp ban and then ask you to explain why there are two accounts on the same IP. This is usually just for the protection of the server and you will be unbanned once an explanation is given and we research it. If you and your brother plan to play at the same time, you should fully understand the server rules on multiple accounts benefiting one player. You may also want to let a SuperMod know via PM your IP address and both account names so that we can monitor your activity and not ban you. RagMan
Me and my brother vdubmastertech have both been playing for quite some time now Both in the same house. I just run downstairs and punch him if he makes me mad.
