Ok, here's the deal. I'm thinking of setting up a spawn shop. I have 21k, so if the spawn shop is a failure I will be broke. What materials sell better and which stations sell the best. Your help is much appreciated.

Most stations are taken, however I find that ores, exp, nether stars, or good building blocks like diamond or emerald make the best. You could also squeeze in some quartz or potions.

I would wait until you have more money before you start your shop. You want to have enough money to stock the shop properly right away.

Use your shop as the place you sell nstars and exp -- you'll get more for it there than anywhere else. If you mine, sell your mining loot at you shop.

Here is a list of things that sell well at my shop:
    Dirt
    Wood
    Quartz
    Any kind of stone
    Bookcases
    Glass
    White and red wool

    Other ideas:
Try offering items that new players are often looking for like chests, signs, ladders, torches, food, and seeds.
Organize your shop so that it is easy to find stuff. If you're selling a block, put the trade sign on that block. If you're selling an item, consider putting a sign above the trade sign that tells the customer what you are selling and the price. The easier it is to understand, the more sales you will have.
