(I don't follow trends. Screw posting on the actual date! I forget EVERYTHING, especially dates. Shhhhh. I would post on the actual date, but I really do not want to forget. SHHHHH.) Around April 14-16, 2011, I joined EcoCityCraft. Not sure when, other than knowing I popped on ECC a bit before signing up on the forum. Back then, ECC was a fresh new baby and being advertised on the Minecraft Forums, with a whitelist [which may have been in action shortly after I joined]. At first, I almost left purely from getting lost on a 1000x1000 block map... Oh, the days of early Minecraft. I stuck around though, because the people seemed pretty nice compared to the other servers I popped on. But, ECC was the very first server I seriously played. And I'm still around. Way back when in late April 2011, I became friends with some people who are now unfortunately banned or long, long gone... If I could say their names, I would - but sadly, that would be breaking the rules. However, some of the older users who still hop on (Sputnick587, @HeavensFallens, JamieSinn, kukelekuuk00 and others I cannot remember) should know some of the people I am referring to. There are others though, such as bkchaney, Larsphee, Michaelwm, Kojigaki, LegitCactus16, Vaaldraem, BigDaddyD2536, antcubing, CanDoBlue, ChibizDemise, Mission001, welikeike22, Glooble, SynWannabe, UnstopableVirus, zwunder, ..... and a loooot more that I cannot remember the names of from earlier ECC. These are just some of the earlier people who had a big impact on me (even if I did not really know them yet) and are/were good friends. (Please don't hate me if I did not mention you... ;__; I HAVE A BAD MEMORY. Forgetting someone does not mean they are less important... It simply means that I suck hardcore. Also, please forgive me for all the tagging.) Back around when I joined (week or two afterward), I was in the first-ever "batch" of ECC Staff... Sadly, my batch-buddies were demoted for abuse of powers or breaking rules. I was still alongside the first-ever Staffies though, being Michaelwm and the original "He who shall not be named." As well, I was a Guest... Builder rank did not exist back then! I'm glad it is no longer "Guest." That would be odd. Anyway, I continued on as Staff until I got SuperMod, back when it was deep, royal purple (</3 I miss that color on ECC; it is nowhere to be found, except the deep, dark depths of _____ ____!). My best SuperMod buddies back then are gone now or banned (why do you guys do this to me!?), so I cannot reminisce much. It was a great run that lasted until summer of 2012, when my life finally got too busy. Early days of ECC were most exciting for the silliness and close-knit community. andrewkm stalking me and being derpy, random talks on Ventrilo, and losing a giant dome in a 1000x1000 map and having pizza parties; people running around and pushing each other into traps or trapping them in dirt; disco and rave parties; the insanity of opening spawn stores and spawn events; Morthanos; Koji and ChibizDemise being complete noobs and causing contagious giggling fits; Kuke being a creepy MoofinK-SuperSaiyan Andrewkm-squid monster; the randomness of Staff chat and the randomness of Ventrilo (when people actually had real conversations); being spammed awake at 3AM just to in-game dance to IT IS OVER 9000! and being posted on YouTube for a day; @suki_x being super adorable and building a Poké Center... Least to say, I truly wish I had more screenshots and the old videos to share. Those were the good days, and the most memorable, for me. Around the middle of my ECC days I was fairly inactive due to real life, but watching the forums actively and hearing about things still kept me around. Even though most of the people I became good friends with were gone at this point, I slowly made a couple of newer friends and acquaintances. Towards the third portion of my time on ECC, I became friends with people like iEvolive, Unknownrider, zardgyer, Skylexia, MattBrpQc, annyonion, Stolio, welikeike22... I generally had/have some good times with them, too. As well, during this third portion of my time on ECC, I made several friends [who are now] on Staff. There are some other users who make an effort to chat with me too, on and off of ECC, such as Starleana, OnSceneReporter and clou44 (Twitter, and Skype in the case of OnScene during the Spawn Comp)! I have even gotten to meet Anny, Stoli, Kuke, and Lady_Frost in real life, and am looking forward to meeting cracker228989 and others this summer. It is the friends & watching and helping ECC grow from baby days that have kept me around. Or a "creepy attachment" as someone has said. Although, I do not have much time to play ECC actively anymore, but it is still the place I come back to and keep up with on the forums. It is basically my online home away from home. Usually I would say, "I moved out of my parents house and went to live my own life," but the roles feel more reversed, so I do not know how to explain it. Either way, ECC is <3. Many thanks to andrewkm for running a great server that has gone strong for so long, and allowing me to make many good friends. Again, apologies for so many tags and forgetting people, or being super brief (ha..ha). I'm not really a person who does these kind of things or follows trends, but three years felt significant to me. I truly miss some of my old buddies. There are not many near-3 year veterans around anymore. ): If I could share more, I would... But I already think that most people will not read past the first paragraph. I am good at walls of text. (I could probably write a small book or novel on ECC memories and people... Three years is a long time.)
If I could... But he won't. :b Economy isn't his favorite flavor of tea. He's all about hardcore PVP and stuff.
Almost every time CanDoBlue see me on TeamSpeak he asks me to get d0rc for something. >.< I don't think hes all that interested tbh, but he still checks the forums. (last I knew)
Congrats! This is super awesome! And tbh I talk to you/interact with you because you're a friend, I can some what relate to you, and you're someone I look up to. You're so wise for your age, and I admire that. <3
Grats Moof! I haven't really had the chance to meet you but you seem like a pretty cool person from what I've seen on the forums and in-game . I'm at about 7 months now and I love this server so much. I hope one day I can make it to 3 years like you.
The little disclaimer cracked me up, as well as all the other tiny print in your post. But, congratulations on your (almost) 3 year anniversary! All your stories make me feel so young on the server , even though I get the impression that I've been on ECC for a VERY long time... Hope we can chat at some point in the future, and that you'll continue being one of the few remaining 3-year old players
Wow moo. Congratulations! I hope to one day be as cool as you are! You are one of the few people I look up to on ECC and I hope you do more so I can aspire to be just as good, if not better than you one day!
Were you there for the Harlem shake video? I can't spot me tossing 3 stacks of sugar cane around xD P.s Andrew is nearing his 3rd anniversary too you registered 9 days after him
I have no idea if I was.. Often I end up a part of things without realizing, lol. That, and I have a bad memory unless something really stood out to me. xD Andrew is already past three years... I believe he changed forum accounts semi-early on.
