As you may or may not know my one year forum anniversary was two days ago. I joined the forums a day or two after joining in-game, so this is a tad bit late. First of all I'd like to thank everyone on ECC. Without you guys ECC wouldn't be the way it is today, or the way it was a year ago. This includes staff, regular players, town owners, builders, and everyone else who makes ECC what it is. Secondly, I'd like to provide a little background story. I joined ECC one year ago. I had never played MC online before. I had only played offline for a few months as well. ECC was the second server I joined. The first one was very unfriendly, and no one helped me when I asked for assistance in chat. On ECC the first thing I ever did was read the tutorial. Back then it was one big area (and in my mind, much better then the current one). The next thing I did was go to the mining world. Kit starter was rather annoying since it had very very cheap tools. Now back in my day, we had four wood portals in spawn. Gates 1-4 led to the main world, we had no "mining world" back then. It never got reset. There were big shops set up on the edge of the mining gate spawn where people were selling things. I recall mining and mining (because these places never got reset, there was almost no ore left) until finally I got some money and purchased a fishing rod. I made a good bit of cash from a pool sitting in one of the spawns. The only player I ever remember from those first few days was legitgolfer He was trying to buy a fishing rod for $15 in trade. Which if you remember the time, was funny because fishing rods were expensive due to fish being $50 a piece. Not long after I got a plot in doetinchem from kevindynamite, my first mayor. The 10x10 (which I found out a few months ago was a 9x11, but I knew he didn't mean to do it ) was my first plot. It still stands in doetinchem (though I had to move the whole thing 15 blocks over) in original form. By this time it was nearing Christmas. If you were around last Christmas you will remember good old Jetscat, or, as I called him at Christmas, Jetsclaus. He flew around to towns that signed up for his program, and flew down chimneys and left gifts. That's how my house came to have a chimney and a christmas tree. I recall Christmas eve looking at the live map and seeing him fly from town to town leaving gifts . Eventually, I got Co-Mayor, Doetinchem passed into my ownership (and still is) and then bought Newsilver, my current town. I've had some good times over the past year. Seen some cool stuff (go ask wolvie about his noteblocks, they might still be there) and met some nice people. Now to the specific thanks to the people that have made a difference. First of all, AndrewKM. The man with the most stylish skin I've ever seen, and no one shall say otherwise. Andrew, over the years I've had mixed feelings about you. At times you've been a role model to me, other times you've been the biggest trollyist troll ever, and yet at other times you've seemed like a cruel tyrant. I may not agree or disagree with all your decisions, yet you've done your best, and put a lot of time into making ECC what it is today. For the time you've given me, and the server you've made the best, I thank you. To the staff over the years, I also have to thank you. You've kept a lot of nasty people off the server and brought a lot of people to justice. You've corrected me at times when I've needed it as well. I may not always agree or disagree with how you handle things in-game, but you've always done your best. So for past staff, current staff, and future staff, I thank you. To welikeike22, we not have always been best of friends in recent months, I've found you a very good debate challenge. You've also been a role model for me in the terms of money, empire, and financial gain. I know I'll never match you in wealth and power, but for the times and debates we've had, I thank you. To Deathnight69, you may never read this, but I've found you to be the person who's understood me the most on ECC. I've only been able to talk to you a handful of times, but you always helped me understand when I was frustrated with ECC and people in general. I'll forever consider you one of the best members of ECC. Thank you. To 4tee, you helped me start Transparent Toaster Inc. Those were the good old days. The building was set up, the materials were stored, and we waited for the orders to flow in. And flow in they did. Without you there I doubt TT Inc would have ever moved on. Thank you. To revanrose6, your knowledge of debate and courtroom was very motivational to me. I was lost on ECC, with very specific interests, and I found you, with the same interest (and even more knowledge) in debate. Thank you for all of that. To kukelekuuk00, you, like Ike, was always fun to chat with. The conversations were always interesting, and you helped point out flaws in my reasoning. You may have been a strange old cactus, but that never put a damper on our conversations. I can't say thank you on your paragraph, because it just wouldn't fit the Kuke Style. To 72Volt, you were (and are) a very good friend. One of the most mature people I've ever met, I treasured our conversations and how you would understand what I said, really understand. Most people don't. Thank you. To bonestriker, you were a good friend, I've fallen out with you guy in recent months though. I loved your knowledge of Star Trek. When I'm all alone on MC with no other Star Trek fans out there, I found you. Now, go scrub the plasma conduits. To Zeek87, you were also a good friend. Although I've also rather lost contact with you in recent months. You were always there to help me out if I needed a hand. Thank you. To dork1877, I've enjoyed our debates. Many times you've thought I was saying nonsense, and many times I've thought you've done the same. I rarely get to have a good debate, so ECC has been a glad exorcise, and I thank you for making it so. And to rainbowmaster12, _TANSTAAFL, officepwnz123, and all the other friends and good players I've met over the past year, I thank you as well. This lists extends far beyond just the three I've listed. You know who you are, thank you. In conclusion, I've had a good year. Met lots of nice people, done some cool stuff, and had a good time. I've made a few friends...and a few enemies. If I had one regret over the past years, it's the fact that I didn't make more friends. Nowadays I feel lonely on ECC. I get online and have no one to talk to, or no one to help me out. No friends anymore. No real ones anyway. Oh, I have people I talk to in chat, but no real friends. Recently, I've been busy elsewhere, and I don't know how much I'll be on ECC. I've had school and other hobbies slow down my time. I'll still check in now and then, I don't think I could ever leave ECC for good. And in closing, thank you for reading, thank you for all you've done, have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
Bro we joined around the same time. How cool is that? Anywhales, congrats and here's to another few years *toasts sparkling cider*
Hey Jason! Good to hear some news from you, I was starting to think something had happened xD. I don't think it is easy to forget when I would order 1000's of potions from you! It is a shame that you say you have no real friends on ECC. I will always be there for you, and if you ever need someone to help you get back on your feet or feel lonely feel free to ask me.
Congrats Jason . I will be joining you in the one year club in less than a month lol. It has been a pleasure having you on ECC.
*giggles to self* You've actually gotten really far in less than a year, Revan. But really congrats Jason!!! It's been great having you on ECC even though I don't know you that well.
You get points for saying "anywhales" Thanks! Thanks! If you ever try to do one of these, you will know it's IMPOSSIBLE to get everyone But what I really mean is demonstrated by starleana. I really don't know her "that well". I just have a lot of people I "know" but not "that well" Thanks, I think the same Same! Thanks for the support everyone
Congrats Jason on reaching such a monumental milestone! I hope to see you as a member of our community for much time onward Good job, anvildash
