So I do not know which is the best way of making money if I do not have any pumpkin axe or melon sword or star tool or any of that sort. Leave your opinion in what is the best source of making money from farming, to mining, to fishing, etc..
Probably mining, but it depends on how patient you are. If you just want something you know will be there, farm wheat/carrots etc., if you want to have a chance to get really lucky and have a good pay out, but at the same time possibly get unlucky and have a small payout, mine. However, if you don't have access to a fairly large wheat/corn etc. farm, mining is probably your best option. Then use the exp you also get to get efficiency upgrades, fortune, etc..
Hmm, I worked out a system for this problem myself a while ago. I don't have perms to a big farm, yet. I recommend doing a random spawn in mining world to start, and see whats around you. "There's trees everywhere!" Go woodcutting during the day, and look for water. Fishing at night is a good way to constantly make some cash, since pufferfish are quite wanted for potions. "Sand, sand, and MORE SAND!" Dig up the sand and turn it into glass! Would require some fuel for a furnace though, but still a good way for some money, but not too much I would think. "Water... Endless, endless water." Explore the seas during the day, with your handy boat! Fishing during the night is also awesome to do. "Huge stoney mountains!" If you happen to get this spawn, coal is your best friend currently! Coal sticks out in this biome, and there are the occasional cave! Caving is recommended here, or just hopping along the mountains collecting coal! "An abandoned village!" Is the farms still intact? Go collect some seeds, which levels up your herbalism while you're getting them. Making a farm out of this is a good way to get money, and herbalism levels. "A Clay mesa biome!" Go collect all the stuff from this biome! They are hard to find, but so neat and worth it because of all the stained clay you can get! Levels up your excavation level also while you do all that digging up clay! "A savanna biome!" I find that acaicia trees are an excellent thing to auction or sell anytime, mainly because they are newer than the traditional oak, birch, and spruce. "Holy, that's a dark forest..." Yes, I said holy. But, Roofed Forest biomes are great to grab if you have silk touch, because the mushroom trees rake in alot for some reason on auction. And you get TONS of wood from here! "It's a... ravine?" Go mining you silly! They normally have caves at the ends, and the caves sometimes dip lower into DIAMONDS! Iron, gold, redstone, and coal as well as lapis and emerald sometimes show up here, deep in the caves for redstone, gold, and emerald though. "Plains biomes are really common huh?" Well, caves are really easy to find here! Animals, villages, and more can be found here in this biome. Ravines can be found too! ----- Alright, I may make a thread for this, but mom wants me off her computer. Good luck!
