How do I make a shop? I just became resident and I need cash to become mayor. I think making a shop is the easiest. Yes I have tried farming. I am sick and tired of going back and forth from harvesting cocoa beans I need something new. Yes I do mining. I do it when I give up on all hope. It doesn't give you much money at all. Iron and redstone is getting me nowhere... I cry at Lottery. Like if you cri errytim. One leik = one prayer Fishing?? Please. Is fishing going to help me? Will it? Is it better than mining?? I did try to talk to you in game about this the other day when you asked this same question in /ch trade, but you never responded. I asked you what kind of shop were you wanting to make... a Spawn shop in the market portal or one in someone's town? Spawn Shop 1. Make sure you have the money you'll need to rent a spawn shop. They cost $20,000 (for 4 weeks) to $50,000 (for 10 weeks). 2. Either check HERE for a shop you may want, that someone may already have, to see when you'll be able to rent it or walk around the market (portal is at /spawn) to see what shops are not taken, taking note of a couple station numbers you may want to rent. 3. You should read important information HERE 4. Post new thread HERE. Be sure to title the new thread "[Spawn Trade-Shop Rental Application]" and paste the following in the new topic, fill it out: 5. Just wait and it will be made for you within 7 days. Once it's made you'll need to build your shop, stock it, and then you can advertise it in /ch trade, for example if your station number is 10, you can say, "Come buy some cheap items at my shop! Do /warp station10". Town Shop 1. Find a mayor or above that is willing to sell/give you a plot in their town. Usually 10x10 plots sell for $1,000 or less. It's also smart to set up your shop in a town that has a /warp so it's easier for people to get to your shop or for you to buy the TP feature and sit at your shop and TP people there. 2. Build your shop. 3. Stock your shop. 4. Advertise in /ch trade. How to make trade signs Ok, so you'll need to make trade signs to stock and sell items with. You'll need to go out and gather the item(s) you want to sell. Say you want to sell sandstone, I go through the following steps. 1. Decide on a price! Hold 64 sandstone in your hand and do /price. This will tell you what sandstone is worth, I usually add a few dollars to it to make a lil profit for selling it to other players, but you can honestly price it whatever you want! 2. While holding the stack of sandstone in my hand do /itemdb. This will tell you all the different names you can put on a trade sign that will link it back to sandstone. I usually go with shorter names that people can still tell what it is like "SaStone". 3. Make the sign. For example: Let's say you're going to sell 16 sandstone for $8. You would make sure you have 16 or more sandstone in your inventory, place a sign, and put... [trade] $8 16 SaStone:16 That's it, hit done and it will take 16 sandstone from you and put it in the sign. You can add more by holding more in your hand and right clicking the sign. To answer your other questions: Farming cocoa beans is the best way to get money, if you don't have a melon sword. You could spend about $6,000 and get a pumpkin axe and farm pumpkins, I hear they are good money as well. Mining is also a good way if you have the right tools. You could spend $10,000 or less and get a nice max fortune pick, go to level Y:11 and just rake in the ores! Lotto is unstable, you'll most likely lose more money than you make, unless you are lucky. I'd rather not waste the money I make on such an unsure thing. Fishing is not a bad way to earn money/xp when you just wanna stand around and do nothing while making money. You can use a normal rod, but using an enchanted rod with an enchantment or 2 on it is always better. There is no easy fast way to make money. That's the whole point of this server, because if you made a lot in a short period of time you'd have nothing left to do and not play here much anymore.
