Main world is too much for mobs; it causes lag. World is giant, mobs spawn everywhere, go unnoticed, go unbutchered, cause lag. Too many players mix with the mobs at once time. I may be wrong, but it seems like the player+mob count combined all at once could be causing the lag. That, and all of the "hidden" mobs that just cannot be butchered due to users never being in the chunks when butcher happens. I propose completely turning off mobs in the Main World; giving people an application for flag refunds; and turning all mob spawning on in the Mining World at all times. Possibly make it so that spawners (which would have to spawn, at least on some Mining World map generations) cannot be destroyed by players. Leave the ability to spawn passive mobs with ExtCrtns on in the Main World and Aether. Allow it to work in all parts of the Main World, if possible - not just towns with active flags. No hostile mobs. I realize this limits mobs to mostly Resident+/Survivor+/Pilot+, however ExtCrtns users can sell their mob spawning abilities to Builders and non-Aether users. EDIT: I remembered there is PVP in the Mining World. It could cause issues, yes... Could also make things more exciting. Having /spawnmob still work in the main world and the Aether are other ways for animal farming. Butcher wouldn't need to be used as much if mobs only in the Mining World causes less lag. As well, hostile mob butchering would probably be more common than passive mob butchering, cutting back on people losing their farms. Now you guys elaborate on the idea; if you don't like it, simply state why. Don't need any flame wars or really huge debates. I'd like to see a real suggestion where people throw ideas and thoughts back and forth about it, rather than tons of flame, bashing, and negativity spewing from everyone. :b
I like it, it makes sense. It's better to have more open access for those who are resident+ rather than have limited access for everyone who does not own a spawner in a town that has mob spawning flags active. Builders have plenty of ways to make 15k in less than a day if they know how to play minecraft and don't waste their money on things that are unneccessary. Plus, this would make it possible for people to actually have animal farms in the main world without the risk of having them all butchered, a problem I have seen quite often.
It is a good idea, I don't exactly want this to happen (I am still a builder and residents+ could charge their price for xp for builders because of no mobs in main), but I will still support because lag high and this would lower the costs of xp dramaticlly. I also think this is a good time to mention that I think mob spawning should be free, (after donation) but would be a 1 minute break in between spawning to prevent lag and spamming.
I don't think it would fix things if you still have mob spawning in the main world with ext creations. I realize its a donator feature people have purchased so you would have to refund them if it was removed but as it currently stands I think the issue stems at times from people making literally thousands of mobs from a few spawned via ext creations. I see forums posts and messages in chat mentioning mobs in the multi K range needing killed/harvested. Probably being done just for the pitiful xp those mobs would give them too. That issue is on minecraft for not thinking ahead when they made breeding a part of the game.
....people are making that many? They should all be blaming themselves for mobs being buchered and for the lag. Price should have stayed at $500 if that is the case. I honestly would like to see it go up again, or for people to farm more efficiently and smartly without ruining things for other users.. :/ And if they want EXP, I would suggest they kill things off sooner or go into the Nether, rather than causing a lagfest for the whole server.
For the nether, it doesn't seem like many mobs spawn there, would there be any way to increase the probability of Mobs spawning in the nether?
I think it would be nice if they spawned in Resident+ places (Nether, Aether, MiningWorld, ETC.) to keep the lag in smaller, less populous areas that limited people go in. In doing so, builders would strive towards achieving Resident to collect the mob drops and also would keep the lag down while maximizing the enjoyment of mobs. I don't think this would be possible, but if it is, it would be really cool! Thanks for reading this!
my bal is just droping thanks me not being able to get bones from my spawn then i had to find one in a town so i wish mob spawning would just go back the way it was
