Hi Rachel. Indeed the 'Mining' world has been sort of mined out. However, the 'Mining' worlds are reseted once in awhile. Take today for example, the 'Mining' world has been reseted, henceforth, resources are back and available for miners like you. I do hope, I was able to answer your enquires. Have fun in ECC! The Mining World was recently reset (like a week ago) so it's still relatively fresh. I was actually able to find an unexplored cave yesterday. But, I do think they should decrease the time between resets, towards the 1 month mark things get rather scarce.
I've been on the server for 3/5 weeks and have seen 2 mining world resets. Both resets I have still been finding good amounts of ore, though the unexplored caves were getting harder to find. 1 month seems like a good time to reset, though they have been doing it more frequently lately.
Well, I'm at 65k after only 2 days of mining. If you can create an Eff. 4 Fortune 3 pick and find a nice cave you'll be able to make 10k an hour no problem. If you can't find a good cave just dig straight down! You'll usually hit some sort of cave system and be set. If you don't find a cave, strip mine until you do! It's easy and you take in tons of cash with that fortune 3 pick.
I spent my first money on farm permissions and tools. Then I purchased resident and mayor, doing a mixture of farming and mining. Mining, even in the mining world that looks stripped is fairly lucrative, and farming can be even more lucrative if you have the right permissions and tools.
