Minecraft Name:Zardgyer Suggestion: Remove the PVP in the mining world Reason: The world is for mining, not PVP and it's ridiculous when you can't tp out to put away your stuff as your inventory fills up. I lost a lot of money in picks, and I would rather not have to worry about that when I'm trying to mine Any Other Information: This is not supposed to be another Nether, it's supposed to be for mining. Agree with zardgyer. I mean, I love the mining world and its pretty awesome but it';s supposed to be a way of making money. Not a PVP arena...
I disagree. Mining World is essentially giving you a ton of free ores and minerals. There should be some "challenge." This is also NOTHING like the Nether. There are only creepers, not zombies, spiders, cave spiders, and skeleton archers. No lava, either. Mining World is actually very safe. What I'm doing is reserving my /sethome (those who donate for more should have no problems) for every place I stop mining. Gather some things, /sethome, use /spawn, go back to the main world, /home bed or another home, store items/get items/etc, /home home. It's not that difficult. Once you get underground, you likely won't find people. And if you're afraid you might, or you see a name nearby, hold down shift so you aren't visible.
Right now, I have found too many people. I hold shift, and they stumble onto my pathways. I'd just rather not have to worry about it when I'm mining. I know that I can just go back to the main world, but PVP should just stay in the Nether. Obviously there is a difference in opinions here though.
I totally agree with you Moofink and zardgyer... even though I said earlier it's not supposed to be a PVP arena I was wrong. After spending more time in their I realized you do get a big upside with increased ores... The only thing I am annoyed with is that there are always people sitting outside the spawnpoint for the Mmining world just waiting for you to exit the protective barrier so they can kill you... Is there any way to solve this? I was sitting around 15 minutes trying to leave the spawn without someone following me... Maybe some different spawn locations or something?
Well, I just see the players as nighttime mobs... Fight your way through. Only difference is the items being taken from you, though some users are nice and will give them back. Since this world is new, it will be more hectic than usual. People will slide into a schedule and it won't be so busy in a week or two. :b Later in the day and earlier in the day should also have less people... When I was on a few hours ago, I saw almost no-one. I mine close to the spawn, too. I'm guessing there are more users on now, though. Maybe Andrew can make two corner portals? Opposite corners, protected 25-some blocks around them. They never move, but allow two other ways to travel without getting ganked.
It could work, although I think I would have to not bring in my expensive stuff. I was just hoping this would be a peaceful place where anyone could just go and mine and not have to worry about tons of people. I know that this is a new world, but since anyone res+ can get in for free, they just walk in and start trying to kill you. I just think if you want to do this, you should buy nether. Maybe just put the ore level back at normal, and let us mine there. That's all I wanted to do was just have a place to mine without stumbling on someone else's mine, or an already explored natural mine. I believe some other players feel this way as well.
PvP in the new mining world completely made my day! I love it so much! I think the people that complain about it just want to be handed free materials without any sort of challenge--and ironically without the challenge whats the entire point in the mining world in the first place? The people in the mining world are generally ranked resident or higher, so its not like they "need" the money. When we did the arguments about the mining world ages ago we concluded that the entire point of the suggestion was not in the favor of financial growth, but rather for the sake of adventure and what is adventure without the risk of danger? I'm in favor of making the mining world even more dangerous.
That's because you stole my silk touch pick. >.> No hard feelings though, since I know it's supposed to be PVP. Also, mining is under-paid in my thoughts. There was an argument about this as well. It'd be more profitable if you had fortune 3, but who would risk that in a PVP world?
You should mine without armor and use harming and slowness potions for defence. They'll down a diamond armor easy. Thats what I do sometimes.
I don't get the "its giving you free resources" statements people are making. I have mined different levels, really I don't see more or less then what I would from mining the normal world. I have seen less diamonds than I would of on the regular map I know that. Pvp keeps it interesting, you have to pay attention, no going afk, no mindlessly mining. The creepers and pvp are good.
I disagree with removing pvp of the mining world. This world is the only one is ECC with pvp on and alot of players like pvp, if you don't agree with the pvp just don' go in anymore. It's not our problem that you die, WE WANT PVP!! So Don't Remove PVP from mining world.
Adinec you're forgetting the nether. That means that there are 2 worlds with PVP on. I know when i'm outnumbered, and I will concede. Can a mod plead lock this post?
I feel like in a 2000x2000 area, if you can manage to get far enough out without someone following you, you should be alright. Once the initial "this is something new" phase wears out, it will probably be less crowded and people pvping will probably stick around spawn so that when someone dies, they can get right back into the action. The chances of randomly running across someone after that initial phase will probably be quite low and if you at least have a set of armor on, you should have enough time to react is someone does happen to find you.
I think the PvP should stay. Swords, bows, and armor all go in and out of the economy in PvP. Pickaxes and shovels go out in the Mining world. Where do the axes go?... Well, I'd assume the mining world if anywhere, but still. People can farm with these and not worry about losing them. Why is it important to have a way to lose them? EXTCommands+. People would normally be able to infinitely use these enchants without any worry whatsoever. Now, they have to be careful with them. Since it's only really worth taking you pickaxes in a place to go mining, the mining world, people will lose them there because of the PvP. As well as armor, swords, and bows there. The only thing left is axes with farming, not sure how that would be fixed, as it would be rare anyone would go to the mining world to chop down those huge trees. Being able to infinitely use enchantments is a bad thing IMO, and this is a good way to "fix" that. This way, no one can just forever go mining and make 4 times as much money as everyone else if they aren't careful.
