Before there was MineWars, before Background Auctions, FloAuctions
and even possibly before Auction Chat itself there was only
    Miners Cove!

    Introduction

Miners Cove is a Hidden Auction where players can see into a location, called a vault, and without knowing exactly what is inside containers or under blocks, hidden in the vault players place increasing bids to win the Vault in question.

The idea: bid high, but not too high for a vault, while the highest bid wins, the highest bid also contains a risk of over payments. Judges will make sure each step for each vault is treated with respect and that any overpayments are within fair parameters. These parameters are not made public till after the auction of the vault in question.

What can these Mine Cove Vaults contain?

Vaults can contain anything from the likes of Collectable Blocks, rare and powerful artefacts (commonly called Enchanted Tools, Weapons or Armours), to anything like farming resources, foods or even potions and lesser tools (shears, enchanted and non-enchanted iron tools.

    So what about rules?

    • Lockers are reviewed before auction happens.
    • Lockers that do not meet the required standard can at any time be withdrawn.
    • All auction amounts must be made in public chats, no Private Messages or other unseen messages can be accepted.
    • Judges accept bidding offers from the first they seen, even if your chat displays it differently.
    • Judges orders are final.
    • The highest bidder wins, will be entered into the system. At the end of all the auctions, the money will be collected, and access given to the vaults. Depending on staff allocations, this may happen at the start of the next batch of calls, but is at the choice of the organisers.
    • Your application is not automatic, and depends on the items, resources or objects that you may want to provide in the locker.
    • Freecycling is allowed, but only one Freecycling Locker per complete round. The price of Freecycling may not always be free. Funds to Freecycling will be put towards a community event choosen by players in a voting thread similar to this.
    • Values for all lockers are flexible and are stated per event of Miners Cove, please consult the thread for minimum values a locker can contain. While there is a minimum value, there is never a maximum.
    • Judges have the right to put in place special rules that do not undermine the community spirit of the event at any time.

Where and how can I apply?

Apply in this thread with the template provided below:

You would be applying for a single locker, in which this round be 200 dollars.

If we sell all Lockers (or a majority) then you fill the locker you are given with resources of a higher end value - This value has not been set to develop trust that we aren't going to rip other players off but will be lower than normal to develop this. Once that is complete, players come to the auction and bid on the locker to win the unknown loot inside, the owner of the locker gets the winnings after a fee (Which has not yet been finalised).

So the event is designed to have a bit of risky fun, while trying to safeguard everyone involved. That is we try to protect the owner of the locker, protection to the bidders, and protection to our reputation.
