Yep, it's that time again! The new update for Minecraft is right around the corner. This update, called "The Redstone Update" is supposed to add more blocks and items to Minecraft centering around redstone. Now, you are probably thinking that all the new additions to Minecraft will be rendered useless as the #1 redstone item, pistons, are currently disabled, and don't plan on being enabled again. Don't worry, most new additions to this update do not involve pistons. Instead, there are cool new blocks that might make traveling to the Nether worth while! I will be listing all of the new features that will be added to Minecraft in the newest update. Though this does not guarantee that is will be added, it most likely will be unless there are serious bugs/ problems. Some of the features that do not effect EcoCityCraft will not be listed. FEATURES Blocks and Items Redstone Comparator Has 2 inputs and 1 output. If A≥B, the output will be A, otherwise it will stay off - When the comparator is toggled, it will output full strength instead of A it will subtract B from A and need a comparator as input for B. Daylight Sensor Can detect daylight. Hopper Places and takes out items in Hoppers, Chests, Furnaces, Chest Minecart, Dispensers, and Brewing Stands. Allows for the automation of many processes. Trapped Chest Gives out a signal depending on the amount of players looking inside. Weighted Pressure Plates Detects the amount of items on the pressure plate. Block of Redstone Emits constant redstone power. Nether Quartz Ore Drops 1 Nether Quartz. Nether Brick (item) Obatined by smelting Netherrack Used to craft Nether Brick. Nether Quartz Ingredients to create redstone comparators, daylight sensors, and the Block of Quartz. Block of Quartz Chiseled Quartz Block Piller Quartz Block Quartz Stairs Quartz Slab Activator Rail Used to trigger TNT Minecarts. Minecart with TNT When it derails, it explodes instantly, ignoring the usual timer delay. Minecart with Hopper Can pick up items it passes over. Dropper A dispenser 'shoots' items at you, while a dropper 'throws' items at you. Improved Dispensers They now activate TNT. They now use bone meal. They now use flint and steel. Snow Heights Crafting recipe is 3 snow blocks in a row to create 6 snow layers. Mobs Improved Skeleton Aim Now shoots from 15 blocks away, instead of 10. Accuracy changes by difficulty. They now shoot faster when their target is closer. Made Zombies Harder to Shoot Now become aggressive and come towards you when shot from further away. Inventory Inventory management changes Double-click items to fill the stack up as much as possible. Drag item stacks around to divide them up over the dragged-over slots. Drag item stacks around with the right mouse button to place one of that stack in each dragged-over slot, if that slot is not occupied already. Shift double click an item stack to move all other item stacks of that kind to that part of the inventory. Press Q while the mouse is over an item in the inventory or a container to drop it. Farming "Improved" Bonemeal Everything now usually takes 2-3 uses to fully grow, but it's random. Bug Fixes Redstone circuits are more consistent and less buggy. Improved lighting. Read more about the changes on the Minecraft Wiki!
Exactly jack, maybe the devs can work something out so not everybody has access to this, only extcommands buyers. Otherwise id want a refund if they give everyone that ability
In my opinion they are ruining minecraft, for me 1.4 or perhaps 1.3 would of been a great finished product.
Well you must think they are expanding just to keep the game fresh, If everything were to remain the same, nothing new would be added, and then mods would become popular, pretty much being the same as updates like this.
They will have to stop the updates at some point, the thing with mods is that they are optional and you only add what you want. With game updates you cannot and you must update to play on your favourite servers never-mind all the work and hassle it give Andrew
I remembered something: I can't make daylight sensor lights as seen in one of CaptainSparklez' videos, as pistons are disabled... Dangit, they're so cool On a side note, mob spawners will be much more fun if you make them fall to low health, as entities can stack on each other
Thanks for this post! Also, I'm new here... last night was my first on the server. I'm impressed by the server, and while I'm very happy that you folks implemented the Nether (some servers disable it), I'm disappointed about the ban on pistons. I like making "secret" switch doors powered by several sticky pistons. It's a shame that people's lag-producing piston auto-harvesters and whatnot are preventing me from having my bit of fun. I understand the reason for the ban, and that most servers have a similar piston ban. As I understand it, some people's greed is such that they have no regard for the server's performance if pistons will allow them to make money more easily. Just my two cents, for what it's worth.
Ah, my long awaited update. Anyway, is there any planned items that are already off the table for ECC ( Besides Pistons)? Do any mods know if this will be a donation feature? Will automatic mining be allowed? Yes its possible with this update, NO I will not tell you how. Good day chaps
Current SnapShot- 13w10a Planned release- NEXT week! So far, they are only fixing bugs. So let's hope the 1.5 update gets released sometime next week!
