    So my problem is this:

When I destroy a pumpkin or melon, it usually takes around a second to actually disappear. I break the block, it appears again, then one second later it falls apart. Sometimes it just reappears again and doesn't fall apart at all.

You can imagine that this makes farming incredibly slow... High speed harvesting is simply impossible, rendering eff enchantment basically useless.

I have tried farming on different computers (one was connected to the internet by cable and should have close to a 100MB connection) with the same result.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thank you in advance!

EDIT: I have of course also tried playing the bare minimum graphic settings, to no avail...

I had the exact same problem Remonius and was advised to download optifine. Since downloading I have had no issues with farming melons on pumpkins.

Alternatively, try pumpkin farming sideways, walking on the stems. That way you don't get caught in reappearing blocks.
