Item/Rank/Feature: Melon (block) Current Price: $1.65 per block Brief Description: You can get it by using a melonsword and breaking it Open Discussion: The melonsword price was recently raised from 1500 n-stars to 2000 n-stars, at the current n-star price that is 1,000,000 ECD. The reason I have brought this up is because the sword is currently making little more than 10,000 ECD every hour, whereas its "counterpart" the Efficiency 7 can make upwards of 15,000 ECD an hour yet costs 1,500 n-stars. I believe that the melon sword should be making a similar amount, as it takes less effort but costs more. Please leave your opinions below.
I think it should make a tiny bit more, but not that huge of an amount more. I'm thinking $1.70, and this could help balance it with eff7 pickaxes as although 0.05 doesn't seem like much, when you have an inventory full it does make a difference. +1 I think it should be raised, but by a tiny amount. Eff 7 picks do make quite a bit more than melon swords.
Yeah i agree as eff7 can make much more money so if they were raised slightly it would balance the prices, BUT a 1 million dollar-ish sword is a great money dump and to be able to make it back easily would be pointless. So in turn i think hat the melons&sword should stay the same, but eff 7's should be raised, like 1750 stars or maybe higher.
Melon swords are the number one way of printing money into our economy. Similarly with any economy, "spawned" money is a bad thing. It inflates the currency, thus weakening the value of a dollar. There is no melon-player trade because melons have little use and there is an abundant supply of them. This is the simple reason why farming won't get a buff. As for Melon Swords, they raised the price as a type of "nerf". It is indirect, however. The Melon prices weren't dropped, but the tool that is needed to make them profitable was increased. This decreases the total return on a sword, drawing people away from wanting to own one. It terms with its counterpart, the Eff 7 pick, they are totally different ways of making money. When Eff 7 pick mining, I never sell anything to hand other than Redstone and Lapis. Everything else is part of a player run market. Money isn't simply "printed", thus the server allowing for such tools. Mined gems have a generally high and everlasting demand, so the prices will always be higher than melons in the player marketplace. The whole reason the Melon Sword was increased in price was because of it's negative impacts on the server. It's effortless money; I can sleep and Melon farm at the same time. However, in support of this idea, the price of an Eff 7 should be increased. An added idea is that they are the same price as the Star rod, Star shovel, and Star axe. Those tools aren't considered "money makers", with the exception of the rod (Requires high McMMo), and I agree with the idea of making these "money maker" tools 2,000 nether stars, while the rest are 1,500. Verdict: I agree with this to some extent, but the last paragraph explains the slight modification I'd like to see.
Totally agree, All server have that special thing. This server our "franchise thing" is the melon sword. A melon sword is a tool ecc made. It should make more money then any other tool.
I have recently been thinking about which is better, Melon Swords or Eff7's. I have been in need for a good way for long term money, even though I am not planning to get one of these anytime soon. And as much as I want to go the Melon Sword route, I keep thinking of how much more money the Eff7 can make. I think raising the price is an excellent idea and potentially get more users to buy a Melon Sword!
Please tell me how to sleep and melon farm at the same time - I was under the impression this was against the rules.
-1 I 100% agree with your statement and you bring up an excellent point. Melon farming and Eff 7 mining are both in their own leagues of making money and should not be compared between each other. That being said they both have their pros and cons and you should buy which ever one you feel more comfortable with and which one you think you will make more money with. The only thing that should happen is that Eff 7's should be raised to 1750 nstars.
In this section of the rules: Clause 4 - Third Party Programs, Auto-Clicking, Auto-Farming, etc. The use of third party programs that create any form of advantage that does not require you to do work while playing Minecraft is strictly prohibited, and can result in a ban. EcoCityCraft staff have measures in place to test for users auto-clicking and using third party programs. Users caught auto-clicking, auto-fishing, using an aimbot, or any other distinct advantage to exploit game play will be punished appropriately. Any form of auto money generation, including, but not limited to, auto-farming and auto-fishing, is completely prohibited by any means. If you are caught using macros or clients to generate money without having to do any work, you will be punished, up to and including the extent of being permanently banned and having everything you own wiped off the server. Be warned that we take this very seriously, and processes that result in auto money generation are a serious risk to our economy's stability. It is clearly stated that auto-farming is against the rules, however watching Netflix and having your Minecraft window on the side is perfectly allowed I'm pretty sure because you are not afk, just doing something on the side and you are still in your open minecraft.
