Well, I have been debating whether to apply for mayorship now or wait until the Rising world is released to apply. Please vote in the poll. There are pros and cons to each. Option1: Get mayor now Pros: Access mayorship benefits quickly, start a town, be prepared for current biomes. Cons: No 1.7.2 features, town not in Rising. Option2: Get mayor later Pros: Rising, 1.7.2 features Cons: I can't get a spawn town because I don't have enough money, would be an even longer wait for mayor.
Considering you've been waiting for 3 months already, I'd vote for getting Mayor now. Maybe save up for President and buy your Rising town then?
Rising definitely People will flock to go out and see the new world and want to be the first to be an official part of it. Just make it close to spawn and put the 85k in a sign for now until you apply, so you don't use it foolishly.
chocolatecheese1 I would not need to put it in a sign as I don't waste money foolishly (NO LOTTO) and have more than double needed for mayor. The con to Rising: More waiting... Pro: Be a first one. However, even if I got a rising town near spawn, the closest it could be is within 600 blocks. I'm still debating/weighing both options...
I'm in similar position regarding my President Application. Although it would be nice to be a part of rising, thanks for portals and tps, I don't really think it would have that big of an impact whether your town is in legacy/rising. Apart from the obvious benefits of the spawn towns, there will be little long term difference I would think.
Mayor in Rising. Make it far away from spawn so you can Cluster all of your towns that you get together and make a 400x400 or even 600x600
Considering that Rising will be up within the next few days (hopefully), it's definitely a better option to wait now. I'm looking forward to seeing you in Dark Green

Wait till rising man, there will be alot more people wanting to go to the new areas plus there might be new shops and mini-games adding to the drive to move so rising is the best pick ^-^ BUT builders will be more likely to stay in our main world because risings prices are without a doubt will be way more $ per plot ratio, thats only a fact considering this band spanking new.
