Minecraft Username: lavajok Brief Description: Delay in sprinting, delay in returning to normal walking speed. Instructions: Double tap "W" key to sprint, notice lag, depress "W" key. How many times did you recreate this bug?: More than 20. Result: Lag when sprinting and returning to normal speed. Expected Result: Instant sprint, and instant return to normal speed when pressing and depressing "W" key respectively. Evidence: I would highly doubt this is client side as I can run nearly any game on max settings and keep between 40-60FPS. Also ignore the music, forgot to edit it out.
Ahh, did not know that. Some users are reporting that sprint has not changed though. Are you experiencing the same thing as I am?
*Update* Yes, it does it for me in single player as well. Guess this is not a bug then and will have to adjust.
Yep. My computer is a little less laggy than yours so it doesn't just lag "stop", but I do get a delay before sprinting and after sprinting. Sucks, but that's mojang for you.
Sprinting did not get nerfed, they simply broke it. (sortof) They made the server handle sprinting, so now you send a packet to the server and the server sends it back, telling you you're sprinting. That's what the tiny delay is, the time it takes before the packet is received by the client. And this does not happen on Singleplayer, I've tested it out.
Dinnerbone has apologized and says it was not intentional. He also said he would try to fix it in the next update.
