Minecraft Username: subxplorer Brief Description: I right clicked on a trade sign and I held down/rapidly clicked as I wanted to purchase a large quantity and I watched "remove from you balance the value jumped from 1.50 to $3000 at least 4 or 5 times. This happened earlier in the night but the amount much was lower so I did not notice it change my balance and I did not see the money in the sign so I assumed it was nothing. Instructions: Right click on a trade sign to make purchase and hold down or click rapidly. How many times did you recreate this bug?: at least 4 times Result: The amount withdrawn from my balance is different than what the sign says. This happened earlier in the night but the amount was much lower so I did not notice it change my balance and I did not see ant extra money in the sign so I assumed it was nothing. Although I now wonder just how much money i have lost due to this bug. Expected Result: The amount withdrawn from my balance should be equal to what the sign says. Evidence: I tried but was unable to get a screen shot as I could not scroll up in chat to where it removed the $3000 the four or five times. But I did get a screen shot of where I was standing and the sign.
Yes, I went back and looked and sure enough there was a sign selling xp at $3000 a set directly behind where I was standing,,,,There is $15000 in the sign and I have 5 sets of xp that I did not have before. I am not sure why or how that happened as I know I was facing and clicking directly on the blaze rod sign. At least we know where the money went.
Yeh, you have to stand much closer to the sign you're buying from. You were standing inside the block the sign occupied, and because minecraft is stupid, you sometimes clicked that sign. Don't stand in blocks that contain trade signs when buying from trade signs.
It is very easy for this to happen with trade signs that occupy adjacent blocks. Especially if you are holding a block in your hand. This is why I always leave a completely empty space in front of every trade sign. To try to reduce customer frustration.
