Stocks are fun, but pretty terrible in the long run. Very hard to limit monetary growth and they reward players for staying away. (Also just my two cents here but saying it will educate players about real life is nonsense. The most that people generally use is to grow wealth long term - which doesn't exist on ECC)
If only stuff were as easy as just fixing it! Unfortunately, the stock trader had all sorts of bugs/exploits (in addition to a developer that has stopped maintaining said plugin a looooooong time ago) that made its continuity on ECC untenable. Further, there simply isn't awfully much interest in it anymore. There's countless ways to deploy unproductive capital towards productive uses on ECC anyways. Start lending, open your own casino or purchase star tools and rent them out - or come up with something new! Even for an MC server, there's countless possibilities for potential investment.
