In Game Name: GunnthorianWhat part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for: Main City ServerShort title for your suggestion: Clear lag warningWhat are you suggesting: to add a clear lag warning 10 seconds before butcher clears items and entitiesWhy is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?: so I don't lose stuff so oftenOther information: but don't have it spam chat, just once 10 seconds before it clears, just enough time for anyone to tp out of where they arePlugin or custom addition: One suggestion per form: I Understand.
I may be wrong but for years we have been told there is no clear entity on our main servers. And as for the mining world, I believe it is every 15 minutes... which I used to set a timer for when it was important
+0 If it takes no time to implement why not, but at the same time you can just set a timer, not too hard.
I would be ok with it if it is just a single warning maybe a minute out, but some servers have it set 5 or 6 warning times and it is not like we don't get enough spam with all the auto ads, pm color all the time now, and even worse is the character spam that is now allowed.
That's correct; the Main world does not have a butcher unless it was changed with the City release. Out of curiosity: Doesn't that essentially defeat the point of a butcher, though? If someone is lagging the server via their spawner farm, the butcher becomes mostly useless if the player is active and unloads the chunks quickly enough. Personally, for years I've been wondering about why people continue suggesting this; I have never encountered a situation where the butcher cost me enough mobs or items to be worth complaining about in any way. But I think I made my point clear, anyway.
Okay, so there seems to be a slight miss understanding... There is 100% a butcher in city, it does not kill items, it kills mobs. stand by a mob (not an owned pet, it doesn't kill my parrot) for 15 minutes and it WILL get butchered. This happens at 15-minute intervals ex. 12:00, 12:15, 12:30. However, @JokerBoss99 said 'just set a timer' - you can't, spend an hour like me and you'll find that it doesn't butcher the mobs at exactly 00 its butchering them plus or minus a minute. I've seen butchers at times like 12:15:35, 12:59:49, its bazaar. TBH, the clear lag warning does not need to get implemented because items don't get cleared just mobs, items die after their normal 5-minute shelf life (this can possibly get problematic), however I just really wish I had known in detail that if you don't want your mobs to die don't be near them anywhere around 15 minute marks. Thanks guys.
Yep. It's consistently inconsistent, yet somewhat predictable and something that I've never heard of in vanilla minecraft. It's almost as if the server is lagging behind its own timer. It would be very useful to be warned about this.
We only clear: Monsters, Animals, Villagers from mining, nether, end Monsters, Villagers from rising every 15 minutes. A warning is not necessary for this and would be useless spam. Regarding items, we do no automated time-based clearing on drops. Everything you see "cleared" is standard optimized paper spigot configuration. There is no way to "let you know" when it happens, as there is no automated time based action.
