I was fortuning my iron ore with a lvl2 magic pick and I got iron ore back. I messaged @MadMonster_ in game and they replicated the same thing with a lvl1 magic pick and a lvl3 magic pick. I tried in my town and in mining and neither region worked.
I can confirm this, I've tested with all three levels of the magic pickaxe and iron / gold ore just return the ores. I used a L3 magic pickaxe on emerald ore, and I received 4 emeralds (I assume this is purely due to the fortune 4 and not the effect a l3 pick should have). This is also happening to me, I have tested with L1 and L3 pickaxe with iron and gold ore, and I am also seeing the same emerald bug as well, 2 (silked with eff7 pickaxe and then placed to use magic pickaxe) emerald ore gave me 7 emeralds for example. It seems if you collect iron/gold/emerald ore with a fortune or silk pick, and then try to use the magic pick, it doesn't work.
yeah so I did more testing and found that it works for naturally generated ores but once they are mined and placed to be fortuned the pickaxe no longer does the 6x drops.
Tested with my L3 right this second. Same issue. It prob got messed with the server maintenance, because it was working less than ten hours ago.
To add to this - I am now only getting 1 emerald from an emerald ore (that has been silked and then fortuned) using a l3 pickaxe.
Was told to use the help support section from posting an update so: And update. Since the recent restart it now seems you just get: 1 emerald per ore with the level 3 pickaxe regardless of silked or natural generated ore. Iron and Gold Ore thats silked is still unfortunable and you get the ore back from level 3 pickaxe
I cannot reproduce this. Magic Picks on Iron_Ore produces Iron_Ingots for me. Keep in my the magic bonus only works on non-placed Iron Ore blocks. Placing them will give you back the actual ore which you will then have to smelt. Read above. Working as intended. Read above. Working as intended. Intended. Correct. Intended. Not messed up. Working as intended. Cannot reproduce, natural emerald ore still correctly give's 6 emeralds.
As there are no bugs in this thread, I will be locking it. It seems this is more along the lines of a suggestion due to the FIXED functionality of it working on naturally generated ores only.
