I noticed there is a lot of mob trap ban appeals. Some of which say that they didn't know there was a rule against it. I'm sorry but that is BULL SHIZ. You had to read the rules to become a resident+. So you didn't read the rules and lied in your application. Or you did read the and lied in your ban appeal. I don't know why smods unban these people, it is an obvious lie. Say you skipped over it. Your first app. Ok i can live with that. Second one, ehhh 3rd one, BS You didn't notice it. I'll admit it can be a little hard to see. But you should read over the rules VERY carefully, bans and warnings supposedly go on your permanent record. And is it just me or are people not afraid to make illegal mob traps? I mean there are at least 3 found daily and people can lie as posted above and get a 1 hour temp. My input Please no flaming Grahamster00
*Lights On Fire* Just kidding. I do notice there are a lot of people who obviously didn't read the rules, but not everyone can read them and completely understand it. Sometimes it is just ignorance over lying.
Andrew has said that they don't take suggestions on their server administration. But I do agree, it is very easy to get unbanned.
Maybe a balance reset to the offender. I agree with our current penalty system, the problem is that people keep chalenging our staff, and try to see how far they can go, knowing that they can always appeal theyre ban with a good chance of forgiveness. What I really dont understand is that the people who do this are residents or higher. Yeah I did alot of mistakes as a builder becouse wasnt familiar with ECC but once I got resident stuff like that never happened again. In my opinion, we don't need to have rules for everything. There have to be the basic rules that represent the foundation of ECC's community, and all you have to do is use common sense. And most important of all, do not attempt to trick /lie to our staff.
Yes, some people may be claiming ignorance when in fact they DID know the rules. However, the rule needs to clearly state what is and isn't allowed. As it stands now it is very vague: So what is the "anything else"? I've seen people banned for simply hitting mobs through a 1x1 hole or spiders through a door(s). It seems to be left up to the moderator's discretion as to what is and isn't illegal. I don't think the problem is people thinking they can get out of it easy. I think the problem is the rules are entirely too vague and left open to interpretation by whatever staff member is checking the block log at the spawner. If people are going to start getting fined for this you need to be very specific about what is allowed. Can I make the room big and run around while the mobs follow me? Can I hit them through a door or 1x1 hole? I've seen ban appeals from users stating this is what they had done. They could be lying but who really knows. This is from the minecraft wiki HERE ,which is probably where the majority of people will go to find out what a mob trap even is: Note the "automatically" end to that statement. ECC seems to have a different definition of what a mob trap is than the rest of the minecraft community. That's fine and all but be more clear on what your rules are and what you define as a mob trap (other than "anything else"). Take some screenshots of traps that people are getting banned for and explain why they are illegal. This would at least give people some more info on what NOT to do.
What if they are poor and don't have the money to pay the fine? Edit* I found where it states what happens. 72 hour ban.
