After a supermod does lwc removals, the items are, obviously, unlocked. This makes them fair game to take from. If the person who requested the removals is not present to immediately lock them, the stuff can be stolen. This happened to me, as the perpetrator will (somehow) gladly brag about. I don't exactly know how, but there should be some sort of protection over objects that are unlocked for an lwc removal. Perhaps make the objects be automatically locked in the requester's name, up to his normal lwc limit. This way, it is the requester's fault for not allowing enough lwcs if stuff is stolen, instead of just being unlucky with who is online when.

    TL;DR
Change LWC removal to LWC transfer to prevent items from being stolen before the requester can lock them.

I asked the same thing from a mod via PM, and he very kindly suggested the following:

One thing that a lot of users do to protect their LWC'd items is placing a block and locking it with a sign. See below.

This prevents other users from opening the unlocked chest. All you have to do is break the block above it. Since the block would be locked with the sign, you would be the only one to break it.

I know this whole situation sucks when it happens to you and it isnt hard for a user to go to lwc'ed chests by simply looking at the coordinates posted on a recently removed LWC request and fly to the coordinates and take the items. However the items in the chest, once unlocked, literally belong to nobody and there is next to no chance of something being implemented to lock the chest to the user requesting the removal, I do believe the best way to make sure the items are protected from users stealing them is to do as Nicodemux has suggested:

Unfortunately, Nico's solution does not work for stacks of chests, which is the most common configuration of chests. Maybe some way to prevent anyone from reading lwc removal requests would work, if that's even possible.

Well, in situations where they are stacked like that, I suppose you could try PMing a SuperMod in game, asking them to expediate your request, due to the fact that you are unable to properly protect the chests.

I was there when the mod did the lwc. Turns out, so was the other guy.

Yikes. I'm sorry to hear that. In my opinion that person is a scumbag, to be hanging around the scene like a vulture circling a dying man.

You took the time to put in the LWC, and you're the town's mayor, so in my mind you have more of a right to the chests than this other guy.

While it is currently not against the rules to steal from an unlocked chest, it's not necessarily the nicest thing to do. Morally, it's wrong, but we don't punish users for doing this.

I'll be more than happy to do an LWC at your request; just PM in-game. Most users are upset that they lost items, but they weren't theirs in the first place. The point of an LWC is to remove the lock. It's about the lock, not the items. If you are really worried about the items, the best thing to do would be to do as I suggested. Nicodemux posted my suggestion a few posts above.

Technically speaking, you can change the owner of the locks to a different user, but I doubt it would happen. This is because you file the LWC to remove the lock and the lock only, nothing more.
