Maco20047 and I were -arguing- about how lotto works. Please Let us know what you think about this. Combined Myself and Maco have 1000 tickets to put into lotto. Is it, A) Better to have 1 person buy all 1000. If you have 2 players buy then it lowers your chance of winning. or, B) It doesn't matter so long as Myself and Maco have 1000 tickets the percentage doesn't change.
You forgot the part about someone else putting in 900. I feel a single 1000 tickets would be better than 2 people with 200 and 800 vs 900 tickets. Less people, more tickets.
So with the last lotto: TheKDshowz_Kevin put in 99, alpert3925 put in 113. (212k total) According to answer b, alpert and kevin's 212k should've beat Kick_Me_1235's 200k. I feel if it was a single entry of 212k, they would've had a better chance to win. Just my thoughts.
Exactly, there is not set way to win, but it's true you and Kevin had the better chance, I think of it as a pie chart, just fill in the correct tickets and percentages.
Uh... you have a better chance of winning if you have 1000 tickets. You will have a bigger percentage of the total lotto
seriously guys, having loads of tickets is dosent mean you'll win. You can throw loads of money at lotto and lose it all or throw like 2k at lotto and win millions. Most of the time, the big tickers win, but its all random selection, literally everyone has a chance of winning, just some have greater chances than others based on ticket numbers...
the lotto is exactly like a raffle in real life. More tickets means you are more likely to win. If two people are teamed up, it does not matter if they buy the tickets separately or if they have one player buy them all. They still have the same number of tickets assigned to their lotto team and the same chance of winning either way.
