Today the lottery was changed from 3 hours to 6 I don't really care about 3 hours but they are both a long time to wait. It should be like 1 and a half hours or 2. But if no to both of those then t needs to go bsck to 3. It doesn't do anything to double the time. Most people don't buy till the last second anyways.
agreed, I believe that if it was smaller, there would be smaller pots = less people QQing about not winning when they throw in 1-5 tickets...
Idk, I think this adds a little more intensity towards the lottery and makes it more... well intense.
Lottery is supposed to be for the rich, and the be big. Longer time gives more people the chance to throw a ticket in. Even if it's just one ticket by 50 different people... That is 50k. :b And the less lotteries that finish in a day, the less chances people get to complain about winners. Right?
I aprove of letting the babies cry. It builds character. Although I'm not one to be talking with 65k on hand.. btw after experiencing this first 6 hour lotto... It's hella long and trecherous..
Lottery should be put back to 3 hours. Not everyone can participate in the now, rare lotteries. I think that the goal of this was to allow and make larger lotteries. However, this is not working out the way intended. Lotteries usually get large because of the 2 factors. 1) High amount of players/traffic (Peak hours) 2) Someone putting a large amount of tickets > 5 minutes. This is because: Everyone seems to "snipe" or buy the majority of tickets near the end. It was a game of anticipation and strategy, still is now, however with a 6 hour gap, all it is doing is making people wait eeven longer. As well as this change in my opinion, being directed the wrong way, not everyone will be able to participate in these long wait time lotteries. In many time zones, the lottery is held in extremely inconvenient times and many users may be stuck in the situation of barely missing the first one and not being able to stay on for the second. I would like it to go back to 3 hours.
Your timezone/missing lotteries logic doesn't seem right... Kuke timezone (example): Can't be on for start or end of 6h lottery; he gets on between that. Kuke timezone: Can't be on for a 3h lottery, can't be on for the NEXT 3h lottery beginning/end; comes on between that. .... 6h makes no difference. In the end, people only miss ONE lottery, not two. And, in fact, it means more people have a chance to enter a [supposedly larger] lottery and have more "chances" to win in them.. o.o It is true that sniping is "the thing," but there are still four lotteries. Most people should be able to snipe at least two lotteries each "day" if they watch when they happened. Getting on for one minute shouldn't be too hard, I'd think. :/ And because they are bigger, more money is put in over time. They shouldn't be smaller, they should be about the same as before.
I'll put this into my own personal aspect. Lottery for me is currently at 3:15 EST I get home at around 3:30 EST. Next lottery is at 9:30EST. Although this is still somewhat early for me, for someone who has things to do at this time, or goes to sleep/cant be on the computer, they would be missing out on this lottery. I have no idea whatsoever why it was put to 6 hours, I can justify the 10 million $ cap, but why extend the lottery? Like I said in my previous post, adding time won't = larger pots.
Well, every time the server goes down - even for a couple minutes - the lottery time changes, correct? Maybe not by much, but over time it will adjust to other times. I'm sure Andrew could always make it at other times, too. For variety, and to give some people other chances? Adding time does get larger, or at least the same size, pots. During three hours, you can get about 20 people dropping 1 ticket in. In six hours, especially through peak times, you can get 40 people dropping in 1 ticket. Maybe there will be less snipes, but that might also encourage users to put tickets in over time... They can still be larger pots, but you lottery players need to adjust to the change. It doesn't always have to be SNIPE SNIPE SNIPE. Being able to put in 10k tickets instead of 1k is a huge difference. :/ Without knowing how to explain 6 being better than 3 now, I see it as logical. It seems right, and a change in things is always good. Instead of giving the change one or two days, give it a week or two before trying to get it reverted back. Give the change a chance and see if you can adjust and make it better for yourself/others.
If we don't change it soon, everyone will just be accustomed to it and it will stay the same >_< Its funny, because once lotteries start getting BIGGER, we get this change. We used to never hit 100k lotto, now we are hitting lotteries up to 3 million, and we decide to make a longer lottery time.... I don't get it.
Andrew loves big lotteries, so if you feel as if he was trying to kill that... I don't think so. More than anything, he probably wants bigger lotteries, or possibly a chance for more users to participate in 'larger' lotteries. Build suspense, have more strategy, try new ways. :/ Since the chance, I've seen some large lotteries (...even if the main one I saw was xxeu dropping in 2500 tickets.) If people get the chance to get accustomed to it, eventually it will be back to "normal" - or will be the normal. And you just proved that things evolve: Before the change, lotteries were just starting to get bigger. This change may have smaller lotteries at first, but they will grow, too. o.o
you are NOT forced to see the end of the lottery. You are NOT forced to snipe the lottery. You are NOT forced to participate in every lottery. So what if you cant snipe a lottery? Do you know what happens then? People will put in more tickets in general.. If you haven't noticed, the biggest lotteries are those where the previous person failed to snipe. Now if you think you lost a certain advantage (sniping) instead of complaining you could think of something different (which I spent my time on doing).

You are not forced to participate in the lottery However, most people have had an affiliation with the lottery and it is a great addition for the server, and they WANT TO. & Like you said, the biggest lotteries are created when someone fail snipes. What is the need in making the lottery 6 hours long then, if the only ones that get large is when someone makes a mistake? We barely have any events, either server hosted or automated, we are just delaying one of the most exciting parts of the server.
Lottery is either exciting or depressing. I don't play lottery. I only put one ticket in when there's more than 100k, most times - if I even put a ticket in. Hope, you know? However, I don't look at the lottery - ever. I NEVER want to know how much is in there. Every time I see large lotteries, I get depressed. Other people get depressed. I don't even PLAY it, and I get depressed. NOT because I I didn't get the money, but because people either boast about winning all of the time, or some users feel personally stabbed when they lost their 50k+. Or, when users call claims of "HACKER" and "CHEATER" Seeing the lottery happen less often is less depressing for more users. :/ Maybe ab it off-topic. But, if less users are upset by the lottery, and lotteries are in theory larger and they have more time to make money to put in, more may play the lottery rather than not. That would bring the assumption of more money in the lottery. /tangent
Rezonl its exactly asd you said ,people WANT. My point with saying something about failsniping was saying that sniping is not necesary because you can put in money at any time and it wouldnt make a difference. Now give this thing a chance and if you still don't like it after let say a week then go ahead and bump this thread but for now just shush.
